Uh YEAH! It looked cool and not something you’d expect in Starship Troopers like the Halo Reach-Halo 4 ones are.
Heavy metal, no mercy, badass!
Definitely! Having the rotating turret just added a cool factor to the weapon that isn’t present in the Reach/Halo 4 version of the weapon.
Wouldn’t mind it. As long as it’s as accurate as it was. Much more efficient than the Halo Reach and Halo 4 turret.
I didn’t want to be a “bring it back just because it was in Halo 3” person, but I did like that model better than the current one.
I kinda feel that the whole three barrels assembly is just too big and elaborate for the size and role of the gun. Gives it an unbalanced and unrealistic look in my eyes. It’s fine for a Warthog turret, because the thing is fed by a massive belt magazine and steadied against the entire torso of the gunner, but with only that skimpy little box of ammo it seems bizarre and ridicules.

being a video game (and a sci-fi one at that) I don’t really expect it to make sense. The point of the game isn’t to look realistic, it’s to make the player feel like a walking tank, and an oversized, triple barreled machine gun does just that.
I agree and support this decision. The turret in Halo 4 just feels weak.
Why three when you can go four http://www.wallpaperhi.com/thumbnails/detail/20120809/video%20games%20halo%20master%20chief%20warthog%202560x1600%20wallpaper_www.wallpaperhi.com_33.jpg

I concur with Hotrod on this post.

You’re not being one, you’re being rational. I don’t want everything from Halo 3 back, only the things that worked better than the do now or stuff that just looked cooler.
LOL they should put 10 barrels on it! That would actually be pretty cool…
The main issues I see with bringing back this design are that it doesn’t make any sense for that thing to carry even 100 shots worth of ammunition, much less 200, just looking at it. And the spinup time being eliminated was one of the things that made Reach/Halo 4’s versions of the Turret actually not suck total -Yoink- in multiplayer.

I can’t feel like a walking tank if I’m using a weapon which shatters my suspension of disbelief. The Halo Reach/4 machine gun feels plenty empowering.

this.
the epitome of a Sci-fi super soldier is a Heavily armored walking tank with a Minigun.
a Machine gun rather than a minigun kind of ruins this effect IMO.
The warthogs in Halo 4 have tri-barrel turrets … so, it is in the game. Just not portable.
Huh, I never really noticed that before and while I typically don’t like Halo 3’s graphical style I like that turret. Just beef it up a little bit, keep the rotating triple barrel and you’d have a wicked gun. Although I think Halo 4’s functionality should be retained.
I’d like to agree with this as well. It is a Sci-Fi not a ‘realistic’ shooter. I’d love to see this kind of mechatronic awesomeness!
