It seems impractical to remove the space diaper and have a very vulnerable location completely unprotected, why remove it?

I think they look normal though, it just looks awkward to have a circle of no armor right around the crotch, I mean it makes sense to have armor there, the undersuit isnt gonna stop a swift punch to the go-nads.

Thankfully I have Mark VI so I can get a small dose but yeah only the Mark armors have the diaper and its unfortunate how armor has actually devolved throughout Halo lore instead of improving to cover MORE of the body.

I hear you, man. Security’s armor used to have the biggest shoulders in the game next to Scout’s and now they’re so small and wouldn’t look like something that protects you from headshots from the sides. I don’t wear the armor anymore because of that, I only wear the helmet now.
Why are people making fun of it?
My Spartans groin looks so exposed without any armor period. That’s why I only wear the Mark VI Gen 1 (and the other Gen 1 suits when I get them.)

That made me laugh, what they dont tell you is that inside the armor plating is a slight upgrade for the older Spartan II’s * wink *
I was just about to make a thread about this topic, is ridiculous to not have armor in a 1 shot-kill-zone.
In all sports they use groin protection, but an advanced, futuristic super soldier that fights aliens that shot him plasma hotter than boiling water, has 90% of the body covered by power armor and not covers this area come on!!!
Seriously, you can tell a man isn’t designing the Spartan armor. Why you ask? Because a man would rather go to war without a helmet than proper -Yoink!- protection. It’s manly man 101. Just ask the Chief.

Especially since shoulder armor don’t even cover the freaking shoulders. There’s so many vulnerability/grapple points now on the armors.

I swear they werent thinking practically when they made these new sets, they were just pumping them out as quick as possible to fill a desired amount
We need space diapers and custom cockpieces.
I’m wearing one of my favorite armors in the game and while I think it looks great personally, I’m just plain going commando over here… Viper is even worse because it completely diverts from the ultra protective look it’s going for.
It makes sense to have it there. However, i think 343 is just taking it away so there stupid looking armors will look just as stupid as they were intended to
Space Diaper just completes the look. I think it looks so weird not having any armor in that general area.
