Bring back the BR

I’m sorry to say this, but if this weapon isn’t in the game I will not be buying it. How do you all feel?

I am not “feeling it”.

The thing that makes halo great is adding new things. Dont bring back the BR… i dont mind adding something similar to the BR but leave guns behind where they are in 2 and 3 and make new stuff for 4.

You got a real bad habit of forcing something you want. Learn to live with what you’re given.

…I have absolutely NO response to that.

I really do want to see the return of the BR. I miss using it but I’m not going to complain if it is not in the game. I wouldn’t mind seeing it again though.

Catch my Drift?

The BR is a joke. How about a Winchester?

Halo 4 should be all SMG’s and baseball bats.

> Halo 4 should be all SMG’s and baseball bats.

A Halo without SMG is like ballpark without mustard. A Halo without BR, that’s like CE.

If they bring back the BR it better be completely overhauled. Halo 3’s BR was the worst thing I’d ever seen in a video game. There’s no need to pick any other weapon up.

The bullet spread needs tweaking, but fundamentally the Battle Rifle was a skilled and highly popular weapon that underpinned Halo’s golden age of matchmaking.

The great thing about the BR and DMR is that they fill different roles. The DMR is great at mid-long range, but starts becoming random closer in, which is exactly when a well-designed BR would start working well. They should both be in Halo 4 multiplayer.

In my opinion every gun in the halo universe should be in the upcoming trilogy. I’m really tired of Halo always changing, chiefs armor is never the same, covies doors remain in flux, the H.U.D. is always being changed, all I want is for halo to finally settle down and make up its mind, damn indecision ruins a game.

Redesigns are what keep a series fresh, and fresh is certainly what I want from Halo 4.

It would be nice if they stopped leaving great features out of sequels, though.

Redesigns ok makes sense, but not on textures, only graphical updates, if your’re going to redesign something then redesign the gameplay, playlists, maps, or upgraded vehicles. I’d rather have 343i upgrade than redesign things.

Halo 4 will not use Reach’s approach of weapon-by-range. That didn’t work, because mid-range weapons would always win. Instead, they’re using what they did for Halo CE - combat role-by-weapon. When you look at the combat role of the BR, Carbine, DMR and NR, they all fill the same combat role. Having more than one is not going to work. What I hope they do is have one weapon that embodies the best of all these, but at the same time refrains from dominating every other gun in the game. That’s where creativity comes in.

In other words, bringing back the BR is a waste of time and energy, and an insult to the creativity of 343.

if they dont put brs i aint buying it either

While I’m sure the BR would have been fine in Halo 4, after seeing this thread, I sincerely hope they choose not to include it.

In all seriousness, what kind of childish behavior is this? “If they don’t have one thing I want in it I’m so not getting it”. Good for you. You think that’s any hair off 343’s back? Who do you think you’re spiting by saying you’re not going to get it? They’ll be selling the game to plenty of people anyway, and you can sit home without it. Quite simply, you’re acting like a spoiled brat.

By the way, don’t play Reach. There’s no BR in it.

That is right. Halo 4 is all new. Everything should be new. All UNSC and covenant weapons should be new.
