I think the Halo 5 BR is really iffy… though I always use it in Warzone and Arena as a pickup. I would hate BR starts, you have your op pocket DMR.

Then nobody picks it up.
The AR is perfectly fine, if you really need a BR, go find one on the map you are playing on.
I wish they’d brought back custom loadouts… nobody likes the AR so arena is all power weapons and Magnums… I love the game, but I am sick of spending all my time hunting for a good weapon lol
Give us BR starts or put more BR/DMR in the maps. Can’t fricken stand the AR and pistol.
I hate BR starts. It changes the entire match to a mid/long range fight.

Problem solved!
Fighting for the BR spawn seems like a more competitive option rather than have everyone spawn with one. AR and magnum loadout is fine by me. Besides the magnum is a beast in Halo 5

This is just ignorant. The Magnum has exactly the same perfect kill time as the DMR. It is inherently a good weapon. It’s just harder to use than something like the BR.
Halo is the last main FPS that makes you learn the map and pick up weapons. Keep it that way with AR starts.

Destiny: You have your weapons you’ve acquired and don’t have to pick any other gun up. You just have to keep an eye on ammo.
COD: You have loadouts with you favorite weapons and only pick one up if you need ammo.
Halo: You start with an AR and if you want a better gun, you better know when and where they spawn and you need to fight to get it.

No, BR is a power weapon.
Starting load out feels so well balanced while not being over powered. I’m happy with it but if I find a gun to pick up I’m usually ok with it. Hated the days where we would run around the map with our starting load out and never even think about picking up a different weapon unless it was rocket/sniper/sword. Glad do put those days behind us.

It is a good weapon, get rid of your BR/DMR crutch and learn to use more than one weapon. They all have their strengths and weaknesses.
AR is the perfect gun to start in arena. I really like the fact that the starting guns are AR and pistol.
Arena is perfect like that!
Maybe they should make an MLG playlist wich the starting gun would be BR but not in arena!
I love the AR/Pistol combo for start, BR really should be a power weapon in Arena. Hated BR/DMR starts in Reach and Halo 4.
