That and the Focus Rifle is supposed to be the Covenant sniper, but it isn’t a precision weapon. You can zooom in 10x or whatever but fat lot of good it will do if it takes 5 seconds to kill the guy, plenty of time for them to shoot at you and make you un-zoom.
Its almost the exact same thing as a sniper. I’d rather have something new, or the focus rifle because it was at least different

i agree the focus rifle was complete crap, the beam rifle on the other hand was equal to the srs99 sniper and it played better too.

Maybe he did, it is still horrible to use as a long range sniper weapon, because you have to keep the beam on them for such a long time.

in this case it really is the weapon that sucks…
I would love to see the Focus Rifle back, I used it to great effect in Reach. Perhaps it could be a little more powerful, but other than that it was an awesome weapon. I really don’t see much of a point in bringing the Beam Rifle back, it just the UNSC Sniper Covie-fied. I’d rather have a greater variety of weapons.

Don’t blame the weapon on the incompetence of the user. Keeping the beam on a person from long range, or even close range, isn’t hard.

the focus rifle was one the most limited/ superfluous weapon of all-time. I would rather have no alien sniper than that PoS return.
Beam rifle was was a great weapon, and it was balanced against the human sniper.
I already miss my Beam Rifle anyways.

Not from range you won’t, because as soon as you hit me I will either hide or shoot back at you making you un-zoom.
It is actually a rather effective weapon at medium ranges, it just makes a horrible sniper.
The Focus Rifle requires more skill than most weapons to get kills with. People call it the Assist Rifle, but I rarely get assists when using it. I would love it back and know quite a few others that would as well. I’m sure people would learn to love it if they gave it a chance and built up their skill with it.
you know, and to be honest y r we even arguing about this i doubt there will be any covie weapons in the MP anyway, being its a new series with a new enemy
