Bring back social!!!

i don’t care about ranking systems and all that, i just don’t want to play with those who do, so separate them 343, bring back social wehere all the fun playlists are.

This game already is social.

Also… your idea of fun OP, is not the only one perceived by every single other individual, and trying to pass it off as such is dumb.

it is a true fact that tryhards don’t have fun, they just like to think they do. they just want to increase their ego by winning online. so long as they stay out of or way I’m fine with it i just want to play something fun without having to find custom games.

What we need are some good classic playlists.

Lolwut.

Ranks pair you up with people around your skill, thus you won’t be facing “tryhards” even in ranked playlists.

What would make the game social is if people actually s started using thair mics.

i did like social and ranked in H3.

I don’t understand why you wouldn’t want to play with people who care about their rank, even if you don’t care about competition you surely still want to win matches whilst having fun right?

Action sack, and big team battle is where all the social players go. Most of the serious players are still in reach or halo 3.

I am getting so tired of people who don’t know that the true skill ranking system has always been here. It’s just invisible because of the problems with it (boosters/cheaters). CSR didn’t change anything, it just reset the invisible one. It hasn’t changed the way we play the game. It’s only here so that you can see what your rank is and make the game more enjoyable for the competitive guys like myself. So STOP worrying about having a more competitive game you noob.

Funny, but I thought forums were to discuss things you like or dislike amongst other topics. And stop making noobs sound like a dirty word. Everyone starts off as a noob. Some of them even end up becoming loud mouthed ego freaks, who think with their egos, rather then their brains. Op is entitled to voice an opinion, just as you have that right. grow up.

Actually I played quite a bit of ranked back in Halo 3 and guess what? I found that FUN. I also played social and customs and all that so just because I liked ranking up doesn’t make me a “tryhard.”

I was explaining something. Your post had nothing to do with my statement. You probably saw the word noob and flipped out and didn’t even bother to read the rest of my post. Oh well, you’re just another complainer who complains about complainers who complain about complainers.

The playlists that use individual scoring for your CSR rank pretty much are Halo 4’s social playlists.

It definitely isn’t true that all serious players are still on Halo 3 and Reach. There are many, many of them on Halo 4, they are the ones who party up together and dominate in games like CTF and Dominion. They only play for leaderboard stats like K/D and W/L which is really pathetic.
People who play for fun and by themselves really get put down and targeted by the menacing party boosters, it’s just not fair!
I agree that they need a social playlist, so that you don’t get put into games with the most competitive of players.
So much for 343I listening to their fans.

What I think would of been good is to have ranked and social playlist like halo 3 had.

Ranked vs Social playlists are completely unnecessary. Period. People really need to understand that having them only creates a duplication of existing playlists. The only differences between Ranked and Social playlists has to do with displaying verses hiding your playlist skill calculation and having a stricter search parameter verses a looser one. All playlists are competitive, it’s the nature of the game, but you can argue that refining the parameter to pair players of a closer playlist skill rank allows for better competition.

Now, if the game presented a search option that allowed a player to prioritize their search parameters based on their preference for a tighter skill pairing, better connections, or the quickest search possible (default), then there’s an opportunity for players to customize the search process in a similar fashion to having Ranked vs Social playlists, but it’s done without requiring a playlist duplication, which in turn reduces the chances of incurring extra long search ques since it would be drawing from one concentrated user base instead of a fractured user base.

Then combine this matchmaking customization option with a playlist offering such as this one and some of the side thought included in that post, plus an in-game CSR idea such as this one and you have yourself a pretty good Halo game. The only other thing left would be to present a more ideal weapon balance and possibly re-imagine the method of having personal ordinance drops, maybe something like this, though I can think of even better ideas for changing these for a new Halo title.

We mean a half of matchmaking just for FUN! No playing for first, only for a good time.
Stop getting in depth about CSR and skill rating systems that shouldn’t exist.
This section is about Social not a Skill system!

Clearly, you’re not understanding.

Fun and competition are relative, they’re not mutually exclusive. This is essentially the case for any game in which the playlists outcomes are centered around winning and losing. Plus, by design the game is trying to prevent one sided competition, which is neither fun nor competitive for the side being demolished.

Now, if you had actually took the time to read and grasp what I was explaining throughout my post and the referenced posts before responding you’d have seen how what I wrote all related back to offering a deeper, more fair, and thus more fun experience in Halo.
