Is anyone sad that the most badass marine in the Halo trilogy got killed off right at the end of the story? I know I am.
Does anyone miss Johnson? I do.
Will there be another badass sarge in the future Halo’s?
I find it silly and unfair, if Cortana, who was ‘destroyed’ gets to come back, why cant Johnson be resurrected?
If Johnson (or any character) magically rises from the dead, I’m going to loose all faith in mankind. Bringing back characters just to bring them back is horrible storytelling.
Also, who said Cortana will come back?

I think myself the new Halo will be about ‘finding another Cortana’ even though she was destroyed…
Though would you even want to have another marine like Johnson in the campaign? I’m saying I want another Johnson like marine, and if Cortana somehow returns Johnson has to because that’s not fair.

Or he had gotten a empty A.I chip and just used it to remember Cortana.
No, I would rather have new personalities and characters to explore, not re-hashed personalities just for nostalgia.

Why do people persist to use this argument when it was made ever so clear that teasers are NOT CANON in terms of story events and are usually only meant to be symbolic, and not literal as everyone likes to falsely perceive?

Although anything about Halo 5’s story is yet to even be announced, i do not think he will be “looking for Cortana”! Many suggest that he is on The Ark, and who is the only other AI that we know of is on The Ark? I think its self explanatory.

I hardly think that is legitimate criteria to revive a character, just because one MIGHT (chances are slim) get a second chance. In that case, Miranda Keyes should return as well, because now all these characters are re-appearing from thin air again? makes sense, yeah? Or how about the Prophet of Truth comes back as well because he secretly learnt how to clone himself before being killed on The Ark? Maybe the secret lies within the Dreadnought that was never seen again after the 4th level of Halo 3? Sounds pretty stupid doesn’t it? Johnson had a laser burned through his chest. How simple could it possibly get? There’s nothing else to it. There shouldn’t be a Johnson-like character either, because that would just strip away the uniqueness of the character.
Johnson’s already dead, OP. However, I would love to see an A.I which resembles Johnson. Just like Cortana resembling Dr. Halsey.

He won’t be coming back
I’m not advocating Cortana’s return, I hope Cortana stays gone, but that’s a terrible idea.
Johnson had been shot by a powerful forerunner energy weapon and was then left on a flood infested installation with no means of escape as it blew up and collapsed around him. There’s no way he survived that. Being an AI, it would be much easier for 343 to bring Cortana back with some excuse about fragments and whatnot.
We don’t need a Johnson clone either. His time’s done.
Johnson is by far one of my favorite characters in gaming and it was sad when Spark turned on him and he died. As much as I liked him I don’t want him back as he is a physical person and physical people can’t return from the dead. As for Cortana her story isn’t over the only reason I say this is due to the Librarians comments on how important she is more than we even know so from that I believe Cortana may return but Johnson is a no go for me.
Johnson is dead. He was killed by Guilty Spark, and his body likely destroyed by the exploding Halo. There is no way for him to return.
And I doubt Cortana will return in any serious capacity. Besides rampancy, it’s unlikely she survived the destruction of the Didact’s ship.

Explained in the book Halo: First Strike and the Halo Graphic Novel. Difference being in Halo 3 we saw him die.

Except that he didn’t die at the end of CE. He went aboard a Pelican with a few other Marines and left Halo just before Chief blew it up.
The Legendary Ending is not canon.
The fact we see his body/can see his character die throughout the game is due to his character not being deemed important at that time, until he got popular within the community. Canon later overruled that “inconsistancy”.
In H3 we SEE him die. He’s just dead. And bringing him back would be insanely stupid. Rather have Chief reunite with Blue Team members with one of them taking the role of trusty sidekick (without the slapstick!) or have Sarge Stacker be brought back. He was more of a secondary Johnson anyways…
Johnson’s body got blown to bits since he died on a Halo. While I do miss him, I don’t want him back. It would ruin one of the most saddest moments in videogames. But Pete Stacker is still alive. He’s pretty cool. He’s appeared in Every Halo Besides ODST and Reach. So It would Be nice to fight along side him again. But seriously this is the silliest thread ever. This is Halo, not Clanad or Dragonball Z where people can just come back because we liked them. This may be not be the most realistic game but it is still based in reality where People die and they stay dead. Bringing characters back would take away from the drama and weight and overall impact of death.
the only characters I see coming back from “death” are AIs because they are data, data can be rewritten or salvaged unlike humans or elites those that have physical bodies are dead end of story but Cortana, MB, Spark, and others can be alive in fact we know Spark is alive so who’s to say Cortana can’t come back in this example and as I mentioned I doubt her story is over the librarian did something to her what that is we don’t know.
I wish. Bungie just decided to kill everyone in Halo 3 it was stupid. Keyes maybe, but seriously they had to kill Johnson?
How about we introduce Sergeant Byrne into the games?
How about introducing Franklin Mendez into the games? He was a pretty important character outside the games, and too my knowledge he isn’t dead yet. Need somebody with experience to keep all those Spartans in line.
