Oh donāt you worry, this whole time travel idea theyāre setting up, theyāre going to come back.
Actually, when they bring back playable elites, I hope they make Johnson playable too, but instead of the AI saying stuff, you have Johnson saying funny quips or talk trash.
I mean, we have fracture from different realities, so for the multiplayer it can be doable.
But I hope they donāt touch the Bungie story lines and just go back to fix the 343 story.

Carterās death is pretty clear, he had his helmet off and crashed into a scarab. Noble 6 is canonically confirmed KIA, even though I wish they were still around.
Jorge though? Iāve always thought that it would actually make sense for Jorge to be alive. Like they say that the slipspace drive was mounted wrong on a frigate and transported half the ship somewhere else, but I wondered if there would be any chance that the corvette slipped mostly intact?
They died in canon, cortana is an AI you really trying to make this work, but itās called sacrifice all died sacrificing to help the futher survival of humanity which gives weight to the universe as a whole, if no good character died and only marines took the L it would cheapen the lore
But you forget Forge took the L in halo wars and heās also a loved character

The only way i can see characters coming back would be if some higher power teleports them out the millisecond before death which would still cheapen those moments

TLJ has the second best writing of the entire series. I will stand by that forever. TRoS, not at all.
TLJ had passable writing as a standalone story but abysmal writing as part of a larger story and established universe, as evidenced by the fact that the writers promptly retconned the entire thing immediately afterwards

Is this a joke? You said it yourself, they brought Cortana back poorly! If any of these characters did in fact return it would only be to their detriment.
They canāt bring them back since they are all dead, excluding Noble 6 that we donāt have a clue if he died in reach o not. I guess 343 can bring him back I they want.
Honestly, they shouldnāt have written a story where Cortana ādiedā and then just have āCortanaā still in the game. It feels juvenile and Iām not a fan of it in a story like the Halo trilogy or Reach. Hard pass on resurrecting dead characters, letās not cheapen the stories of the older games.
But I would love if they made another ODST style game or something set in the past where you play a marine fighting the Covenant and then have Johnson play a role in that game. Maybe set it on harvest and have us play through the a first contact scenario, something like that.
Who says future campaign content canāt go back in time?
