Simple as that. Plasma Stun was a great part of the CE multiplayer experience, and should be apart of any pseudo-CE matchmaking someone can make.
I believe utilizing a similar version of AL’s stun effect will suffice (minus the bashing).

Well, seeing as Halo Annie won’t have any Multiplayer*, I assume that you are referring to the Megalo script engine extensions that 343i will be adding to Reach in the Title Update? Or, to those who aren’t nerdy enough to know what “Megalo” means – the enhanced-Classic gametypes that 343i will add to Reach’s Matchmaking?
Hells yeah bring it back! It’s what gave purpose to the plasma weapons. Nowadays for example plasma rifle is just pretty much an AR clone with a different skin, what’s with that?? We dont want duplicate weapons, might as well remove the plasma weapons all together if they dont offer any unique functionality…

That and they are weaker.

Basically. It doesn’t have to be apart of the default game (although it should) but I don’t want to be playing “Classic” without good old Classic mechanics.

i miss this too. it was a great addition to halo 1. im sad to see it left out of halos 2, 3, and reach.

Wish I knew. Doesn’t make sense for balance when you take alien weapons and make them reliant upon another mechanic for kills.
It especially doesn’t make sense due to the fact that Plasma weapons are “projectile” weapons, and plasma freeze compensated for it. Now they just aren’t worth using much anymore.
The Plasma repeater in Reach romps an AR unless the AR user gets the drop on you.
Whats the real difference between the Plasma Repeater and Plasma Rifle… seems like someone got lazy and just changed the RoF and Dmg, makes no sense. They should have put in a new plasma weapon not a clone that even looks almost exactly like it.
Also BUFF UP the Turret Machine Gun (decrease the spread), it’s not even a Support Weapon!

Its VERY effective with Classic settings, I’ll tell you what.
How could it if every weapon is increased in damage. You still have the same playing field but without the longer kill times… or am I missing something?

Let me put it this way, I was playing Classic Customs with some friends from the forums before, and we were playing on a Valhalla remake. It wasn’t the greatest map, but one thing about it is that the turret respawned very fast.
Me, just messing around, ripped it off and started using it. For the length of time it was in my hands, they couldn’t leave their base, and their vehicles (Wraith, too) were torn to shreds. It was magnificent.

I think that the plasma weapons should be buffed in multiplayer so that they are stronger(or just the stun or both?) than their UNSC counter parts. as the plasma bolts move slowly, and the fact that the weapons themselves are only really effective up to mid range, will mean that UNSC weapons(DMR) will still be a more than viable choice for combat.
The focus rifle,needler and needle rifle will remain the same as the former uses light, while the latter uses needle projectiles.

It was removed because of dual-wielding in H2. Just imagine dual-wielding a SMG with a plasma rifle; you stun your opponent and nuke his shields while peppering him with the SMG. Extremely powerful.

And it also allowed you to take down a Scorpion on your own either with a plasma rifle or in a Ghost. You could circle the Scorpion faster than the tank could turn his turret.

You know, I never considered using a Plasma Rifle on a Scorpian in all my years. I only shot at it with my AR, Pistol, Sniper, or Rockets when I did shoot it with hand weapons.
Regardless, I still want it back.
