Bring Back original gamemodes?

Does anyone remember the amount of Gamemodes from Halo reach? I would like to see them come back. For example, multi team slayer or slayer dmr. Does anyone agree

Those aren’t “original” gamemodes in Halo. Those are variants. But sure, I’d like to see more of anything.

Id like a ranked (or even social) version of slayer pro with no radar

The point is that they’re typical Halo offerings… why are we missing so much variety and these typical Halo offerings that are essentially expected out of every Halo game, in H5, when they are so easy to implement at this point? There’s no need for further development, no patch or content update required… just take a day or two to plan and make the adjustments to the MM system and shift some of the content and values around and update the playlists. I’m sure it’s pretty freaking simple.

They are withholding maps, staple modes, and game “variants” just to try and “sustain” the population, when the base offerings they leave the community are growing increasingly stale and there’s little variety there to keep people interested in the first place. Especially since a lot of the remaining population has been playing the game for some time now… There is nothing to gain from withholding staple content, when it should’ve been in the game in the first place.

It’s just so crazy man, that people even have to say it… that we have to request these kinds of things out of 343. Core Halo content and game modes…

343 is just terrible

I would love to see the old modes comeback!

What they need to do is open up the social playlists and remove the “max” party and shove all the game modes and variants into social.

You DO realize just how much support Social modes have gotten in the last year or so, right?

Way more than competitive/ranked modes… and it’s Infection-this, Grifball-that… Castle Wars-this, Covie Slayer-that… Action Sack… not to mention all of the special Forge content that has gone into all of it, and long-time competitive/core Halo fans can’t even get Oddball or KOTH? Adjustments to the map rotation? Or even a few additional (competitive) Forge maps on a semi regular basis (like the casual players)?

It’s clear what crowd 343 values within the player-base… and if Halo starts to prioritize its casual side more than its own CORE gameplay and game modes and MP design, it’s going to get to a point where I will no longer be able to support the game. If anything, it’s the Ranked playlists that need some additions, even Social could be restructured… where’s Social Slayer? Multi-team?

Honestly, nothing is surprising anymore… at the rate we’re going, we might as well have ranked Super Fiesta, Infection, and Castle Wars in H6… and we can’t even get Oddball, a traditional Halo mode, as a permanent game mode in H5. It’s unreal… no reasoning, not a peep as to why out of 343… I mean, it took constant feedback since launch just to get Snipers added to the game a few weeks ago, when a fraction of the player-base is left, and then they say stuff like “well people don’t play it enough…”

I wonder why! I wonder why…

You do realize that “I” am the one who wants more of everything in ranked AND social. 343 did a poor job of implementing core game modes and their respective variants. Social should be opened up in terms of party bc after all social is social. I was only speaking of social in that specific post. You’re arguing the same point. Not quite sure what you’re attempting to prove.

Your post essentially read like “throw everything, any fixes they make, into Social” so if I missed something earlier on or misinterpreted what you’re saying, I’m sorry…

It’s good to know that we’re ultimately on the same page.

While some of these classic playlists made it into H5 in a modified form, gametypes like Oddball, KoTH, Assault, Regicide/Juggernaut, multi-team, and others should have been there at LAUNCH and made PERMANENT playlists, not rotational. I hope they see the error of their ways in Halo 6… crosses fingers and toes

Don’t hold your breath… soon in H6:

Ranked: Super Fiesta, Infection, Grifball, Castle Wars!

Rotational/Social: Team Slayer, Doubles, CTF! FFA… competitive modes nowhere to be found…

It might as well be the direction we’re heading in, after the kind of post-launch support this game has gotten… very frustrating.

I mean, they might as well just call all of these casual gametypes core Halo combat these days. They certainly seem to favor and heavily promote it on social media…

1 Flag, Neutral bomb, KOTH, real Oddball. Be nice to have variety like that. Even Dominion and Extraction from H4 would be worthwhile.

As much as I’d like to see those I feel like it’ll split the players too much. I never experienced problem with search times but I hear a lot of people complaining so idk

Damn, never thought my post would get so much attention

I think they should definitely focus on the classics… first and foremost.

This is something I’ve been posting about for about 6 months now and have been down voted and -Yoink–talked constantly but I feel EXACTLY the same way. Oddball and KOTH have been staples of RANKED playlists for about 13 years now, yet for some reason they still aren’t in ranked. Now that the oddball playlist was positively received, they should remove Slayer from Team Arena, put Oddball in ( so it’s oddball, CTF, SH) And call it Team Arena Objective… Smh it CANT be difficult, they player base has left in part because ogethe fatigue of a lack of legacy Halo game types AND variants. There are also still no objective game types in ANY other playlist, only HCS and TA - too many playlists are Slayer. Case in point, the other day on a random Wednesday afternoon (non peak hours) I loaded up some Halo Reach and it had 8.5k population. Pretty good for a 7 year old game that is attributed with the downfall of Halo…

Another point is the lack of 343i’s own original game modes - Extraction is arguably the only competitive mode to come out of Halo 4, yet it is nowhere to be found in H5. WHY??? Pros and casuals alike need to get some love and have a decent game type added for ranked play, it’s embarrassing and shameful at this point.

Despite our posts, this will never be acknowledged or fixed Im about 99% sure of that, they’ve milked us for req money and now they’re done
