Bring back ODST firefight!

Am I the only one who wants to be challenged in a SURVIVAL mode? Reach’s FF is not survival, it’s point hogging. I want FF to be difficult and fun again.

I highly doubt 343 ain’t reviving this thing in some shape or form in Halo 4… Just don’t expect more of the same… They are taking risks with Halo 4, which could translate itself heavily into multiplayer/firefight.

Either thats a good thing or a bad thing in your book. Lets just hope it remains as addicting or more as the previous versions of firefight.

I didn’t find Reach’s FF addicting or fun in the slightest, and I can tell that no one else did either. They only played it for Credits. Don’t believe me? When was the last time you saw someone in the Firefight lobby (not matchmaking) who was just playing FF and not going for a challenge?

Reach Firefight is boring. ODST Firefight is boring. I think it’s the maps, they’re crap. Flamesuit on and all that, but look at CoD’s Zombie mode. Now they are proper survival maps. The maps you get in Halo survival look like free-for-all multiplayer maps that didn’t make the cut.

I see where you’re coming from, but the problem you seem to have is an aesthetic one. Also, because zombies plays so much differently, of course the maps are going to be different. In Zombies you’re playing against melee only enemies who climb through windows, and FF is just fighting off waves of Covies.

ODST encouraged teamwork and survival above all,not point -Yoink!- the whole time. The FF Maps for ODST were pretty good IMO because they had good uses, the ONI Alpha Site was the most best used map for its ability to take out enemies before they made it halfway across the map,it also had excellent cover places.

ODST maps are not boring thier fun, and CoD zombies and FF are not closey related. zombies are about fiending off hordes of zombies while FF is about warfare. the reach FF maps are bouring though

I get why some people liked ODST’s Firefight mode, even if I’m not one of them. That should definitely be included as a classic option.

But what a lot of people want in survival modes is atmosphere. Exploration. A real sense that you’re surviving, holding out in a last-ditch defence against innumerable enemies. With all the mystique and canon Halo has, there is potential for all of this, on a scale far beyond what CoD can achieve. Yet Bungie have completely ignored this aspect. I’m really hoping 343 doesn’t.

I’m stating my opinion. You have a different opinion, sweet, that doesn’t mean mine is wrong, and it doesn’t change the fact that plenty of people feel the same way. Also, there are some basic ideas and traits that all survival modes share, by definition.

ODST had better Firefight maps, but Firefight while fun for a time, and addictive at first, gets old very quickly. I used to play Firefight a lot with my friends in ODST, I didn’t play it more than twice in Reach.

All i see here are opinions.

It’s all personal preference. Nothing more.

Pretty much everything discussed on these forums is opinion.

Agreed. Definitely agree.

ODST emphasized teamwork and was actually a challenge.

Reach’s FF is just individualistic credit--Yoink!-.

Reach FF:Credits milking.

ODST FF:Survival mode.

I was really dissapointed when i discovered Halo Anniversary FF Was Arcade and not classic.
