As it is now, mouse is at a complete disadvantage against controller players. There’s proof showing the accuracy differences, and people who are die hard MNK players saying how much better controller is. Mouse magnetism was a “little” stickiness, it helped a little which was enough to make the inputs not feel so different where you feel you’re using the wrong thing. When I use my mouse and I’m against a controller player(especially a competent one, who’s like high diamond or onyx I feel cheated or that I’m doing something wrong). Please consider bringing this back because when it was available only controller players were the ones against it, not MNK because controller players think mouse is some god sense of accuracy because they see how players like shroud aim, when even he wasn’t doing any good in infinite in terms of aim. You even went as far to increase aim assist at the request of players who felt aim assist was too low.
Aiming in the flights was so much better on mouse and keyboard with magnetism. There is literally no reason to be using mouse and keyboard right now… I dont even care if controller is the better option, just make MKB at least viable. If you’re using MKB right now you’re putting yourself and your team at a huge disadvantage. Particularly talking about ranked (onyx) Not sure why 343 silently took out mouse magnetism without NO explanation, then 2 days before the beta drops announce they are increasing the aim assist cone for all weapons on controller by 3-4% (nearly double). Its ridiculous controller players can just blindly cry about mouse and keyboard with no basis and they listen. Difference between MKB and console/controller users is that we’ve tried both. They see one clip of someone swiping across the screen and no scoping and cry about it. Halo doesnt reward flicks or fast reactions like other shooters though, controller with aim assist is far more effective in a 1v1 br strafe battle. I literally only feel like any given fight is even when Im able to get the first 1-2 shots in. I would get 5-7 perfects a game in H5 (champion #1 in Team Arena), in Infinite I MAY get 1 every 2-3 games. I have never had more than 1 in any game, and they’re almost always to an opponent not paying attention or someone who jumps after I have already landed 2 shots.
The input imbalance is crazy right now, they’re literally going to lose 3/4ths of their PC audience before the year is even over. Crazy to me that their not commenting on it or at least letting us know they’re aware of it and looking into balancing changes. We don’t necessarily need mouse magnetism either, a small increase in bullet magnetism would work too.
An increase in bullet magnetism would just benefit the controller crowd even more. The mouse magnetism is the solution.
I’m gonna be playing some more on mouse and keyboard tonight. So far I don’t think aiming is too bad at all.
Keep telling people maybe just turn down your sensitivity lol.
If you played on as low as a sens I do on controller, I guarantee your accuracy would be far higher.
You don’t understand. When someone is strafing, crouch strafing it’s not possible to be consistent as controller. We need a little assistance to the aim
I’ve been playing against Diamond/Onyx players in kbm solo playlist lol. I think I’m somewhat understanding.
Tracking strafe, crouching and jumping ain’t that easy to do on controller either. That’s why people do it lol.
Dude I do it easily on controller. Playing the KBM duo/solo means nothing.
Do your controller reticule and mouse reticule have the same sensitivity?
That’s basically impossible to replicate but I use a low mouse Sens in this, I use controller though because in my eyes mouse feels awful
In this
Is this a troll post? Or just looking for clout?
Asking for a friend….
In all seriousness the mechanics, acceleration curve, and deadzone setting are hot dumpster juice across all inputs and devices. It really take a lot of time to figure out the best settings.
The aim is broken across all inputs/devices
I for one am not in favor of any bullet magnetism at all not for controllers, KBM, pc, or console. Just get rid of it all.
Aim assist now that’s a little different and is more dynamic than it is RNG with bullet magnetism.
There’s should be static and dynamic aim assist.
Static for PC which provides longer term stability to aim since pc can make more rapid adjustments to aim (static meaning it’s slower and not as aggressive or rapid)
Dynamic for controller since controllers cannot react as fast to micro changes like a PC can (dynamic meaning faster, and aggressive)
Static aim assist should have 20ish percent control authority
While dynamic aim assist should have 10 ish percent control authority.
That might assist in creating a balanced aim assist across all platforms
That being said I have the unpopular opinion that any and all aim assist or bullet magnetism should be removed for ranked matchmaking and only ranked.
Casual players don’t give a crap about the fine detail stuff like that, they’ll just want to grind for customization.
Infinite barely has any aim assist. A competent mouse player will destroy controller players. It’s just a more precise tool. You have to be awful with a mouse to lose to a thumbstick.
Then you’re awful, because no mouse stands a chance against a competent controller player, especially in ranked
I use both mouse and controller frequently, it’s safe to say both offer an advantage in different scenarios. I.E long range, mouse will win most of the time and close range controller will win most of the time. That controller aim assist is so strong it’s hard to turn it down. that’s why I opt for controller on PC
I’ve got like 7 hours of experience now on keyboard and mouse and I have to say it is fine, everyone’s just probably playing on too high sens lol.
Play ranked open crossplay and tell me your wins in a row. In fact run a TO4 all mouse and key
I have played some crossplay on mnk. My accuracy is 47%. I’m not good on mnk though mechanically my movement and using keys to do stuff like pick flag up and sprint is difficult. Once that’s sharp I assume I’d be able to perform pretty similar on both inputs.
Compared to my controller accuracy of 52%.
Just bear in mind I have basically no experience on mnk and have been controller gaming for 25 years. Slower is the way. I’m assuming so many mouse players accuracy is bad because they don’t want to slow it down.
I play Halo like I’m a 90 year old grandpa.
M&K player here. Y’all are just bad. Aim assist on controller is bad and inconsistent. This has ACTUALLY been proven. Those statistics are crappy statistics that take a small player pool in isolated environments that don’t take in to account the many factors.
Just learn to aim man. Idk what else to tell you.
Edit: Just realized this post was made by a controller player. What kind of advanced trolling is this…?
I refuse to use the mouse when it’s this bad I guarantee you can’t beat me when I’m using one and you’re on a mouse
Sure buddy, if you’re that good quit complaining.
this is a losing fight, so many controller players will argue till their face turns blue that it’s balanced as is.
it’s most definitely not, if you played kbm at onyx levels you’d understand the disadvantage kbm players have.
the easiest tell is looking at the hard data. accuracy stats tell an obvious story (10% difference across all players)
ask yourself, why is there not 1 kbm player that can compete in any of the professional tournaments? surely theres an aimgod like shroud that can compete? not 1? hmmmm.
