Bring Back Map/Variant Voting

That’s the very reason people asked for map voting to go away.

Yeah, that NEVER happened with map voting…

Their data showed this (and anyone who’s been playing since Halo 2 or 3 online should know this as well) and that’s why they went to the system that they have now in 5. They said they also considered the veto system again and might go back to that in the future games.

That series was called “The Sprint” I don’t remember what episode it’s in but they talk about it in one of those. If you haven’t watched it it’s pretty good. Sorry it took me a while to get back to you. Been busy and had to find it, obviously

Oh great, thank you! I’ll have to look for it.

Plz no voting

I really miss this feature along with Party-up.

Why not?

I miss it. People are talking about playing the same maps too many times but that can happen on random rotation, too. Seems like the entirety of the time I’ve played Halo 5 has only been like 2-3 different maps in Team Slayer, and for the most part, the only difference between that and a voting system is I’ve been playing on maps I kinda hate. And it’s a shame because 5 has some decent maps compared to 4. In Halo Reach we’d play Sword Base like 3 times in a row and then Countdown twice, sure, but then the options it would give would start changing things up to encourage voting for different stuff. There was also a lot more maps and options. In Team Slayer alone there would be like 4 map options and a “none” option, two were usually slayer and two were a slayer variant. I never minded that because if I happened to play a lot of Sword Base or Countdown I loved those maps anyway. But the voting kept it fresh instead of hoping the RNG doesn’t pull it up YET AGAIN. Most of the time, playing about 2-4 hours I’d hit a very good variety of maps. In 5 it seems like it always picks the same 2 maps over and over with occasional variance.

Every Halo game has a few very popular maps and modes. When voting is enabled, these maps and game-types are played much more often than the unpopular ones. You may think this is a good thing, but it is not, because even great game-types get stale if you play them over and over again.
Also, voting slows down how quickly one gets into a match, wasting time.

Are you just playing Quick Play?

> But the voting kept (the playlist) fresh instead of hoping the RNG doesn’t pull it up YET AGAIN.

Did Reach keep the lobbies intact after each game? That is my recollection but it’s been a while.
IF, and this is a big if, the lobby for the next match remains largely the same, the players would be more motivated to chose something new, and in that case voting wouldn’t be as bad, but still not worth it IMO.

> In 5 it seems like it always picks the same 2 maps over and over with occasional variance.

Again what playlists do you play? Because this is not my experience.

Did anyone play MCC BTB back when voting was enabled? To me that was the absolute worst. Halo 3 was much more popular than the other three games. This combined with a 16 player lobby almost guaranteed that Halo 3 players would make up the majority. As someone who really wanted to play more HCE and H2 BTB, I rarely ever got to play what I wanted.

That doesn’t make sense. Map voting is usually the same reason why we kept getting the same 3 matches in a row…not sure if that’s a mistake. Map voting/veteo was kind of annoying.

Bring back the veto, it gives everyone a vote into what kind of match they’re going to play. Making them at least feel like they had a choice.

If voting was brought back behemoth and launch site would never be played again…hmm

If population and available game modes allow for this much separation then yes but I wouod rather see a multiple select system similar to Titanfall2.
More choices selected the fastee your matchmaking

i like to see map voting and game type voting system coming back to halo infinite multiplayer.
