I refuse to say goodbye to FF LTD. It was my favorite playlist by far. I am emploring the people at 343 to bring it back! Here are the reasons why, for me, it surpassed the other playlists and should be returned to matchmaking. I will try to keep this short.
By limiting the number of lives, players were required to use tactics, strategy, and teamwork to succeed. This made LTD a much more subtle and complex playlist. This made it more challenging.
The requirement of teamwork and communication between players allowed for more people to get to know each other, thus creating a very tight knit community. There were probably 100 players who played on a regular basis, and i knew most of them, recognized their names and friended them. This made LTD a wonderful community through which the majority are my friend basis.
In remaining firefight playlists the DMR and other precision weapons are now outdated when playing with 4 players. To attempt to use precision weapons is futile in FF arcade because the use of rockets and fuelrods are to prevalent. Precision weapon players will have a very difficult time competing.
There is no real challenge left for a 4 player group looking for firefight. Need i say more!
I am extremely disappointed by the removal of LTD. Perhaps upping the credit for completion of a firefight LTD game would entice more people to play. With the credit rewards for arcade and ltd being equal there is little incentive for people to play a much more challenging game, save those who are in it for the challenge like myself. Arcade is a brash explosion fest with no skill required. Doubles is only good for 2. Score attack requires no teamwork. In conclusion i will say that FF LTD was in many ways the best playlist that was offered. Please 343, give us back our challenge, our subtlety, our community.
I feel your pain, if anything they should have removed the game mode with infinite lives, overshields, and power weapons. Thats hardly survival at all.
I really enjoyed Limited, but it had its issues. The DMR is too versatile and powerful compared to its compact, automatic cousin (which needs to expunge an entire clip to get a kill). The infinite ammo boxes take away the survival-esque aspect of hunting for munitions. Granted, I do love Limited a lot more than 2x Score Attack or Arcade Firefight, and I’m sad that it’s not in Matchmaking anymore. BUT, I do see why 343 did that. Firefight, at least in the sense of the general online multiplayer community, is nothing more than a credit farm. 343 wanted to emphasize that aspect in Matchmaking, while leaving Customs for the needs of the Limited fans.

Right but you cant do multiplayer with customs except with friends, and friends dont want to play FF if its not for credits.
i wish there was a way to do multiplayer custom FF. it would be perfect, it would only attract people dedicated to FF.
Aw man! Now all we have left is Firefight Arcade, Doubles, Score Attack, and the FF customs menu where we can play firefight versus with friends and make our own unique gametypes! How lame!

It was the most fun when random -yoinks- weren’t immediately expending all 10 lives before the first round was over.
But when you were lucky enough to get three other players that tried their best to survive, that was a damn fun game.
But why on earth would you remove FF Limited when they should have axed Co-Op Campaign? That mode has the lowest amount of people at almost anytime, far lower than Limited ever saw.
Firefight limited was my favourite. I could not believe that 343 have removed it. I hate firefight arcade which requires hardly any skill or thought and get fed up with the crazies on the other competitive games. Limited was fun and required skills. BRING IT BACK NOW !!! Maybe a sign of things to come from the amateurs at 343.
