It’s SUPPOSED to be a good, fun, gun. I hated it in 3, but loved the 4 version. It seems ok as is, people complained about the default gun being OP in Titanfall as well.
VERY wrong! The CE AR was fantastic if you used short controlled bursts. Obviously the Pistol decimates it in most CE combat but it was still viable. Halo 3 had a near worthless AR and I don’t want that dynamic again.
I said viable IN CLOSE RANGE. Yes it can be usefull I am not saying it needs to be trash I am merely saying it needs to stay in the close range area of weapons, not killing across the map in controlled bursts. Good at close range, bad at mid to long range.
Clearly what Infinite needs is to have the weapon that is simultaneously the most common, least skill reliant, and most rng heavy buffed!
Look, it’s plain and simple: The AR is the training wheels, the Pistol, BR, and Commando are the real deal. This is how Halo works, this is how Halo has always worked. Just be happy the AR isn’t complete garbage like it was in H3 and Reach, and be even happier you got a competent automatic weapon to play with in the Commando.
Why do you want MC117’s main gun to suck?
Infinites AR is the best AR in any halo game to date.

Reduce its RRR or reduce its damage output (not both) and get rid of the headshot multiplier
(it could also probbably due with a ROF reduction as well)
