We’ve already been through this with Halo 5. No one wants to hear some nobody commending you for your double kills and completed objectives. Absolutely everyone wants to hear Jeff Steitzer yell “DOUBLE KILL!”.
Hearing what sounds like a minimum wage employee softly say “Nice work, Spartan” to everything I do is extremely underwhelming, and has a tinge of disappointment every time because that’s not how it used to be.
Jeff is THE announcer. He didn’t even start the shooter announcer thing, and yet he is the only guy who comes to mind when you think of shooters with announcers. Stop trying to outdo him with “in-universe” stuff. It’s not as interesting. Every other shooter already does that. Halo was the one that didn’t. The game that made “flag stolen” announcements cool.
Now we have “hey, I think they might have your flag maybe”. BORING! WEAK! Why should 4v4 matches get Jeff and BTB gets So And So? Do the right thing!
