In halo 5 there seems to be a serious lack of team work involved with the game modes. sure we had game modes like infection, btb, and firefight, but those are game modes where alot of people tend to go out and fend for them selves. in reach this was different because they had invasion. a game mode where you bad to work as a team in this 3 stage ctf like game mode and I would like to she either this game mode or one similar in halo 5.

Warzone assault has a lot in common with Invasion (And I played quite a bit of invasion) There are two teams one set up to defend, one to attack. There are extremely predictable spawns. The defending team has a decent advantage from the start. There are branching objectives and success in one leads to opening the next one. There are a few things missing like the elites vs Spartans element. The KOTH sections to unlock the first two objectives (Not counting breakpoint) are a bit harder to accomplish as not only do you have to be in the ‘hill’ but you have to remove the enemy from it. And instead of CTF you play destroy the pillar for the third objective.
Absolutely agree, if I could pick one game mode from a previous title to be added to Halo 5, it would be invasion. And preferably a Spire remake to go with it. That final stage push to capture the objective, so awesome.
I bet someone at 343i is like “But you have Warzone Assault, it’s the same right?”
Man, reading the title made me think of the announcer guy saying “Invasion”
Only if we had Playable Elites
I remember when my whole team left sometimes and i would get spawn killed by spartans on the defense team over and over.
Other than that, YES! Halo 6s premiere gamemode! On large scale maps and stuff, i can only imagine.
…and you know what this means? PLAYABLE ELITES, AND MAYBE EVEN ELITE CUSTOMIZATION OMGG

Yeah, the best thing about Invasion wasn’t the game mode itself. What made it so popular was that it was elites vs spartans.

And you could make custom maps for it to

It pretty much is. Its like the difference between Strongholds and Dominion (Halo 4). Yes there is a difference but they are very similar in many ways.

It really is pretty much the exact same. It is different because assault is built off the Warzone concept, but still very similar.

I was gonna say the same thing.
Bringing back invasion would mean bringing back one very important thing… a thing that has been ignored For almost 5 years!
Having Invasion in Halo 5 would be stupendous, but I think Warzone Assault is kind of its equivalent in this game. I can only hope that it will be implemented in Halo 6. However, there is a custom game variant that is similar called Assault and Control. You should check it out.
Have you tried turning your Warzone Assault off and on? I played some invasion at a friend’s house once and WZA seemed a lot like it. But the only problem is that we don’t have playable elites.
I don’t think they will ever do that. It would be a diversion from the cash cow Warzone.

Warzone: Invasion. Then they’ve got the best of both worlds.
WZ Assault is already pretty similar though. It’s an Invasion minus the Elites vs Humans.
Invasion, Elites, the weapons, and the vehicles from Reach. Just bring them all back. Won’t happen in H5G, but maybe Halo 6?
Been playing Bungie Halos, much better quality of gameplay than 343
WZA isn’t the same as Invasion, but if they added the Invasion maps it would be as close as we could get.

The difference is hard to explain but it is there. Also Stronghold and Dominion suffer from the same fate. Dominion is what I see as the proper evolution of Territories to be, strongholds is a step back. Dominion IMO is by fr 343is best original gamemode, sad to of seen it taken away.
Warzone could of been a step forward but it feels more like a gimmick then a gamemode. While invasion was a one time like I hope Warzone will be it didn’t have any ill taste.
Invasion also allows for each team to have a chance at attack and defense and overtime allowing for a greater feeling of the mode being fair. You beat them on attack you face them again on the opposite terms and when you finally break teh enemies base and there’s 30 seconds left, you feel like you can actually make it instead of the timer basically being an assured death sentence.
If you look at it in the form of the big picture they are the same thing but you can do that with anything. COD IW and Halo are the same because they both take place in space, have to deal with human politics, are in the future and have augmentations. Each color is specfica but they all have layers. Red can be just as dark or as light as yellow or blue and has so many shades that it’s almost limitless.
So in that context the best way to describe Invasion to Warzone assault is that Invasion is Crimson while WZA is Maroon. Both shades of red but different.
