Bring Back Hogs On Guillotine!

The Psycho Duck, Community Level Designer, Catographer, went ahead and pulled of the best remake of Headlong since Halo CE Anniversary Dev version.

He redesigned and improved the overall play of the map and restructured it to make du Warthog plays have much better driving. He put alot of work into it and from what we see, made changes that could have made the map play better than ever.

Duck is overall very happy with their aesthetic and weapon sandbox changes, and I too think the map looks and plays great, mostly.

But in 343’s quest to have their “stamp” on it, shoehorn their creations, they removed his Hogs, the key element the new changes were made to support, and replaced it with the damn Mantis. Shoehorned whenever they could into BTB in Halo 4, 343 have continued the trend and rendered pointless the hardwork of Duck to improve the Warthog gameplay.

This is a betrayal of the both the original feel of the map AND Ducks hard work. The warthogs should be BROUGHT BACK.

This isn’t “343s” stamp on things dude, the Forge designer wanted them pulled.

That’s a shame. Hogs are a lot more fun to use than the mantis…

I’d rather a heavy vehicle on that map, since most of the btb maps are warthog/ghost/infantry centric.

Dude, Psycho Duck did NOT have the Mantis replace Hogs. Watch the video he disagrees with the change that 343 made

The Forger worked hard on a Improving a Worthog routes on map for Hogs. If 343 wanted to shoehorn in a mantis, it should be on THEIR map, Basin

This is disheartening

I do wish for hogs to be on the map, the mantis is too easily destroyed in Halo 5. Warthogs would have been a lot better for gameplay and for fun!

The Mantis has a wierd bug also where you can get out while being hijacked

I kind-of want Headlong to be Headlong not, “Oh, it’s Headlong, but designed for Arena based gameplay now.” Wasn’t putting BTB maps in the whole reason for just that…to have some BTB maps that were a little less Arena & more Objective? Give us the old Headlong with almost the exact same weapon placements then put: 1 Flag, 1 Bomb Asault, Strongholds, & Slayer on it. I get the map is smaller, so you need to tone down the vehicles. Simply put one Gauss Hog behind attacking base, remove the Mantis, put the Banshee & one Ghost behind defense base, then put one set of Rockets at Overshield & one on the roof (but make it so you can’t jump across & limit it to two shots per Rocket launcher), then Beam Rifle where it used to be, make the freakin’ stairwell again for some good Sword gameplay, etc. God, they took one of the best BTB maps & made it super Arena so it’s just chaos instead of any real strategy. It’s like 343i is so stuck in this “Arena for everything!” mentality because they so desperately wanted to get back into MLG that those are the only people they listened to or their whole mission statement. Again, I am not opposed to some Arena stuff, but to take Halo, a game that was known for multiple facets & try to make 95% of the game all Ranked Arena style stuff, it was just a stupid decision. They already lost 50%+ of their player base to Black Ops 3 & Star Wars. No casuals want to play Halo 5 anymore because there wasn’t enough unique maps & you’re always playing people your own skill level. Most casual players want to play people LESS skilled then them so they feel like they are dominating.
