Bring Back Halo 3 Veto System

Halo Reach’s system seems great in theory, but what ends up happening is you only get to play the few maps that a lot of people like, rather than every map in the playlist.

I’d like to see Halo 3’s single veto system brought back.

YES.

as much as it is a problem that some maps and gametypes don’t get attention

its not as fun if you see in this scenerio:
you see:

“(bad gametpe) on (terribad map)” you think, “hmm, thats not gonna be fun,” so you veto it
next pick

“(even worse gamtype) on (more terribad map)” and you’re like “FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!”

now i come to a conclusion:
Q: why do people exclude certain maps or gametypes in the reach voting system?
A: because they are not fun to play on!

some maps are catered towards noobs, campers, and exploiters,(Ex. Sword base) so said people choose said maps

some gametypes are based towards people that care too much about K/D or other unnecessary things (Ex. Slayer pro) so, said people will choose said gametypes

so the answer to this, is that 343, or any other mapmaker, should give equal importance to different groups of people (I.E “Pro’s” casuals, vehicle lovers (like myself), noobs, and others)

then excluding maps/gametypes won’t be a problem

Not a a bad idea. I do like being able to vote, but I want more variety in maps than “oh let’s play BTB. HEMORRHAGE, HEMORRHAGE, AND SOME MORE HEMORRHAGE.”

I agree, in Halo3 I was able to play any game type when ever I wanted as everyone ells was able to as well. In Halo Reach there are some game types that I still have not played because everyone ALWAYS votes for the same crap.

I like Reach’s voting system.

I personally prefer Halo 2’s system; no vetos.

Agree, even though much of my time i get maps i hate, it’s still the best. I also think the map and gametype preferences should be split into 2, or 3 as the hardcore gamer wants other maps than the beginners. I mean from skill 1-35 people would obviously vote away the pit, and br starts to get valhals, but in the skill of 36-50 it would be the other way around. Because the beginners vote away the pit the hardcore players would not get this map as often as they should … thoughts?

Variety is best. I loved not knowing what map I might get if we veto’d. I also love playing on every map that is actually made for the game. You don’t get to do that with Reach.

I like Reach’s system better too

I prefer Halo 2’s dictatorial system, but Halo 3’s is a step up.

In Reach’s system, the majority of players who like the same map will see it get played
As much as i like Halo 3, this was something that Reach got right. If you’re tired of playing the same map, invite some people and get them to mix it up
I 4 1 was not a fan of vetoing construct and getting stuck with snowbound

If you want to play the same map over and over again, get a group together and play that map. Most people don’t enjoy playing the same popular map every damn time.

you should be able to choose the map and game type you want to play then the game will find the people with the same thing you chose

but then that would spread the population out too much

I am a fan of Reach map voting system, But what drives me crazy is when the daily challenges are any sorta headshot challenges all that ever seems to get picked is DMR.
By far my least favourite game type.
And its a shame some of the maps dont get seen nor played as much as they should.

I think there should be no ‘none of the above’ at maximum. I like the new veto system. The old one made you play rubbish maps regularly, with this one you still do, but far less often.

I wholeheartedly agree, Reach’s veto system is showcased at it’s worse in BTB. Hemmorhage, Hemmorhage, more Hemmorhage. Whether I like the map or not, it wouldn’t be fun playing ANY map as much as that. Halo 3’s was perfect.

All I gotta say is that 1 person has the power of veto. 1 organization can have the power of veto. Voting democratically isn’t vetoing.

lol ahh the good ole veto… but i think they will do a mix of reach and halo 3’s veto or maybe they will be like F*** it lets make it like survivor where everyone puts a map name in and whichever map gets the most votes we will not play!! YAYYYY grunt explosion
