Bring Back Halo 3 Style of Armor

I’ve been thinking lately how the armor in Halo 5 means almost nothing. One can ublock a mythic legendary armor in one gold pack or 500, they just got lucky, they didn’t earn that armor, there’s no value to it other than “Wow I look cool,” which quickly fades. In Halo 3 you had to earn every set of armor in the game. For example, to get the scout shoulder pads you had to splatter someone with a mongoose (one of the hardest things to do at the time, for me anyway) and then you felt good after getting it. Knowing that you actually did something to look cool rather than bribing the casino manager to get the same. I earned the Helioskrill armor alongside a friend and we both wore it religiously, because we felt awesome knowing that we did something to get such a cool piece of armor - but even that set 343 added to the regular loot pools for gold packs - and now it basically impossible to distinguish someone who got the armor by earning it, or by being lucky.
So I implore you 343i, bring back the Halo 3 style of unlocking armor in Halo 6. Have the individual player’should look mean something again. It adds a value to the game and a desire to players to achieve what they want to get a bit more then having a .0001% chance of unlocking the armor they really want from a gold pack (or 100).

I enjoyed Halo 3 armor and ways to unlock the armor as well. I don’t like the random unlocking blah version we have now. And a lot look very similar.

Even though there was not as much veriety in Halo 3, with only 10 helmets, I felt there was alot more distinctive combinations back then.

In the case of Halo 5, there are that many, and they all look very similar, that if your any more than 3 meters away I can’t tell what your wearing.

I liked the Halo Reach style more though than Halo 3.

Totally agree. Though Achilles is perhaps the hardest armor to unlock ever.

No, long and receptive grinding is not the same as difficulty.

I agree…That various champaign accomlishments such as beating the game on various settings, using type of weapons, collecting skulls, intel, etc. Plus doing various commendations playing multiplayer to unlock the gear shows your proficiency in the HALO game…However, as a price of creating games becomes more expensive, and as a business man I would put in the REQ system in HALo 5 to boost profits. Maybe allow 30 sets to be unlocked during campaign. and one legendary set given once all are completed.

I like the Halo 3 unlocking system, but Reach’s armor looks the best, in my opinion.

Yes, but the REQS could purely be for the weapons and stances and assassinationsee etc. The armor should have more value than that

no, anyone can get on day after day with a full team until they earn their little farming trophy

CQB and EOD pretty please. No changes!

Definitely agree.

You feel so good putting on an armor that you know you deserved rather than bet money on.

Remember the whole Recon thing with Vidmaster achievements - now THATS how you unlock armor.

Hell ya man

REAL ARMOR YES PLEASE.
Not this…ACTION FIGURE crap.

Halo Reach armor was much better imo, hopefully with the new update it’ll be more distinctive than the armors present at this time.

Achilles is the only one that gives some depth in the armor system
