Everybody has completely neglected the return of bullet drop to halo, I never want to see hitscan again, Halo 3’s shot leading mechanic (specifically the BR from the original, on 360, as the MCC version felt slightly less satisfying because it was an awful port) was perfect and made BR battles more dynamic and less based on who lands the first shot. It also made strafing a lot more useful and meant that people who were less skilled in leading their shot, would usually get out BR’d by someone better than them (me) hehe. So let me know what you guys think of this idea, I’m sure most people on here either have no idea about this mechanic and don’t even care or do not like it.
P.S. Leading shots was also a mechanic in Halo: Combat Evolved and is definitely an important part of restoring the whole “classic gameplay” thing that everyone is going on about, which I am heavily partial to of course.
Projectile (aka, bullet leading) and bullet drop are 2 completely different concepts. Not sure why you made a mention of bullet drop when it has never really existed in Halo.
Anyway, hitscan can still be utilized for more skillful gunfights without giving a risk for inconsistent bullet registration due to a poor net code, which H3 suffered immensely from. See CS:GO for reference.

No your wrong and were probably just bad at Halo 3 if you think H3 had inconsistent bullet registration. It did not and the only reason it would is because of the aspect of host advantage which would not be a problem in a new halo as they will have dedicated servers and yes your right its projectile bullets not bullet drop but whatever you get my point so why even bother pointing it out. I already know you probably never had as many 50s as me in halo 3 and your opinion is completely wrong and irrelevant go back to shooting grunts in campaign you nerdy random.
I see what you’re saying, I can see that with hitscan there wouldn’t be much of a gameplay difference with a newer Halo game like Infinite and it would play way too similiar to H2 / H5 or even H4. I think adding a certain shot leading mechanic would be really good for the game, lets remember people… This is a new Halo game, and I think a shot leading mechanic on reliable dedicated servers would be brilliant, it adds a level of depth that would have to be learnt!

TeeJay YEAH THATS WHAT I WANT, BULLETS JUST RANDOMLY FLYING OUT OF THE GUN WITH NO PATTERN OR ANY WAY TO COTROL IT OMG YEAHHHHH THATS EXACTLY WHAT I SAID!!!
I played a match of H2A last night after having not played any other classic Halo besides 3 in a long time. It was really nice to go from Halo 5 back to the classic style of Halo movement but still have bullets immediately connect with enemies unlike in Halo 3. I think Halo 6 should have gameplay that closely resembles Halo 2 rather than 3. Bullets immediately connecting with enemies, that just feels more right to me and is more enjoyable

The reason your bullets dont connect in halo 3 is A. Your playing MCC versin B. your not even leading your shot because your awful at halo 3, shut up and sit down bruv, also H2A isnt halo 2 its halo 4, as it running the on the h4 engine, but with halo 2 skins
I wasn’t a big fan of the ballistics for the BR in H3, tbh, so no thanks if you ask me. I liked H2’s BR better- it felt crisper and cleaner when firing.
Halo 3 did a ton of things right, but the BR was not one of them, along with some of the larger maps in MP. The bigger maps would have worked better with a mid-range weapon that fired more like the H2 BR, along with sprint and more vehicles that spawned in more frequently.

Halo 3 refines the halo 2 BR adding in more depth and skill to the game, Balanced force, you clearly played Social slayer and BTB if youre complaining about large maps, if you want armour abilities yournot allowed in this thread goodbye. Texas toast you are trash go away highest skill 1o scrubs all of you were highest skill 10 i bet
I, too, would like to see projectiles return in the next Halo. I think BTB in Halo 3 was as successful as it was because of projectiles. Cross-mapping was super rare on that game.
Just so you know Bungie went another direction with mid-range ballistics after Halo 3 and never looked back so that doesn’t really support the whole “adding in more depth and skill,” opinions you tossed out there (without any true justification to back any of that up).
TBH, I didn’t really like the H3 BR on any maps (small, medium, or large), but the whole leading shots issue was just magnified across larger distances. Also you’re not just gonna tell me that I have to leave the thread; are you really that under prepared to properly debate your ideas with anybody?

> True, which was also magnified across greater distances (and unfortunately whoever had host during the 360 days).
I did like rare occurrences if cross mapping back in those days compared to now
