I just really miss the times in halo when you could keep playing with the same group of people after a match of you all hit the magical X button. It made it easy to form a good team and also rematch those close games we have all had
You could look back in your recent players and find those you want to play with.
I agree the party up system should have stayed.
They should of kept a lot from the older halos including pregame lobbies but its not that hard to invite someone who was in your previews game. You can look at the scoreboard view profile and invite them in seconds.
Another thing i liked from the halo 3 pregame lobbies is that you could tell if it was a team of 4 , 3 , or 2. If it was a full team the bar on the left by their gamertags would be connected. If it was 4 single players they would all have their own bar and it would not be connected to the others.

I agree, a lot of this information was very useful because it could affect your play style quite heavily.
- For example if I was playing against a FireTeam whilst I was playing Solo, then I would encourage our team to stick together tightly. However, if everyone in the match was solo then I’d be more comfortable with us splitting up where appropriate.I understand why a lot of this information was removed (to stop people quitting before the game has even started), but I’d rather see quitting handled in a different way.
It kind of feels like the UI is just unfinished in Halo 5 when you can’t see the Gamertag, Service record, etc. - All you can see is an icon.
Out of all the games I think I liked Halo: Reach’s matchmaking lobby the most. You got to see the Spartan stance, some trivial information, and party all in one tab. This is slightly off-topic but I also loved being able to pick from three gametype/map combos.
Party up was great idea. You saw an X next to each name, you got on together well in the match and move to the next. Simple.
The looking up 3 recent players was tedious doing one by one meant by the time you got to INV the third person, the 1st one lost patience and just left. Even messaging them kept you waiting for reply…if there ever was.
