Bring back gore!

Halo is not meant for a younger audience!
I dont think any Halo Fan like the current idea from Microsoft to make the Halo-Games compatible to a younger audience.

(pls exuse my english xD)

Gore was barely in the game to begin with. The sole reason previous Halo games were rated for gore was because of the Flood.

You’re also saying this to the same community that most likely played their first Halo game before they were even 10 years old.

I want a little more but it doesn’t need to be excessive.

Yeah I’ll just leave this here…

I didn’t even notice a difference from previous games.

So you want to make the game more kid friendly?

If the flood comes back, it’ll be M once again.
I still remember seeing that Marine get flood-ified in Halo 3…

Halo 3 was also dark, thats why i love it. I remember playing it when i was 9 years old, almost 10 years later and it’s still my favorite game ever.

I dont want Halo to be like Doom or Gears of War. But in Halo 5 is not even blood. And when the Flood make a comeback, they need to keep the scary Space Zombie design. And hell yeah I played Halo also when I was a Kid. I just dont want that Microsoft/343 make the Games with every Game step by step more Kid-friendly. I want to see blue blood when I shoot a Grunt and for me it looks weired when a Spartan dont lose blood…

I would love some gore and blood. Where’s the blood yo? There was loads in CE, and Reach had the best detailed blood.

there should at least be some blood in h5.

Many adult games lack gore and aren’t “kid-friendly” because if it. Gore is not a reasonable solution to make games lose a “kid-friendly” perception. No one ever considered halo an adult game in CE due to fluorescent blood.

They aren’t necessarily making it “kid friendly”-it always has been IMO. With the disappearance of the flood, halo lost a lot of the gore and such. However, I think your point should have been to bring back:

Swearing and other…expressions ahem Like with sergeant Johnson
Blood, as you’ve stated. I think it would fit to see more blood upon shooting enemies, like HCE/2.
Gore, only if it revolves around the flood, as that makes sense

Simple as that. Saying kid friendly didn’t really help you out to be honest, as I played Halo C.E when I was like…5, when it first came out. Further, rating doesn’t mean everything. E.g, Gears 4 has the same rating as GTA V (in Aus they are both R18+) however I’m sure we can all agree that GTA V is “worse” in regards to content, as Gears is just blood, gore and swearing, no big deal.

Yes there is blood for Grunts.

I thought about this and you nailed what I was thinking when I was writing my post.

Gore? Compared to other games on the market Halo has been softer than a baby hug. I don’t even notice that it’s not there. That’s how little there was. lol Sure there was green soupy splats of blood in the past but I wouldn’t call that gore and any blood that spurted from Spartans was barely noticeable in the first place. I don’t mind where it’s at now. Gore has never really been in Halo and doesn’t need to be there now. I enjoy a bloody game as much as the next player but keep it out of Halo.

The first time I saw the assassinations go from punches to the head to animations I thought “Whoa. Halo is getting dark”. lol

That’s about as much gore as it’s ever had and that is about as much as it needs in my opinion.

I couldn’t agree more man. In my opinion, gore shouldn’t matter. Gameplay is the most important thing hands down. I will admit, bashing a dead Elite to make blood go everywhere was fun, but we don’t necessarily need it.

Honestly a level of gore similar to World at War would be pretty sick in halo.
That’s actually something I’ve always wanted.

I agree. Halo doesn’t need gore (until the Flood return, then it definitely does).

It’s not the lack of blood in Halo 5 that makes it strike me as “kid-friendly”. It’s the anime/power ranger armor that we’re supposed to think looks like Spartans and not plastic action figures. It’s the literal toy guns with the boomco skins. It’s the “marines” (tell me with a straight face that the marines in Warzone don’t look like mascots for brightly colored candy). Basically what makes Halo 5 seem aimed at young kids to me is the fact that it’s full of plastic toys and not soldiers or Spartans. Reach, the grittiest Halo, was far from a bloodbath, but I wouldn’t call it aimed for little children by any stretch of the imagination.

I first played Halo CE when I was a kid as well, and I loved it. There’s a difference between “a kid can enjoy this” and “this is directly trying to appeal to young children”. Past Halos were the former. I’m not going to go quite so far as to say Halo 5 was specifically and intentionally designed to be the latter, but I’ll say it definitely is speeding toward that side of the spectrum. I can’t wait to see what more kinds of internet lolmemes we get painted on our super-marketable action figure armor in Halo 6, next to our Mega Bloks and Boomco labels… Maybe the marines in their rubber suits can have Lego heads for helmets.

For the record I’m not against Halo toys, merch, etc being made and sold, and I’m not saying Halo needs to be gritty or grimdark (I adore Halo 1/2/3’s styles as much as I do Reach). My problem is when the game is designed to look like a toy store isle.

Sure, spraying the walls and floor with grunt and hunter blood like in Halo CE would be fun, but in my opinion there are much bigger issues with some of 343’s design choices than blood and gore when considering whether it looks and feels like a Halo title.
