Something about Halo 3 and Halo Reach always stuck with me, and that’s the ability to kill your teammates. A lot of games don’t have that anymore. Now, Bungie and 343’s simpler ways to settle this, was to simply boot the poor -Yoink- that betrayed you, and admittedly, the lack of friendly fire does remove the quintessential goal of killing your teammates for guns.
But I pose this question?
What about those of us that killed our teammates because they were too stupid to get the hell out of the way? Now, conversely, 343 has removed this problem, and THIS is a problem only for one reason:
If you killed your teammate for getting in your line of site, it taught them NOT to get in your line of sight anymore. What about when a teammate in Infinity slayer kills you with a vehicle, because you have a weapon they want? Its small things like this, that needs to be decided upon. If we had friendly fire, the games would be much more fast paced than they are. Admittedly, you’d get scumbags who have nothing better to do but troll their teammates, and indeed, boot them from the game. -Yoink- 'em, don’t forgive them. But in many of the games I played, I only ever killed my teammates if they jumped into the shot as I was pulling the trigger, so to speak, and got themselves killed. I feel that if someone wants to be foolish and run head first into a fire fight between red and blue enemies, they should be rewarded for that foolishness.
But that’s just an opinion.
