Bring back friendly fire?

Anyone else think they should bring back friendly fire?

I think it would really add to team work (so you can’t have your team mate throw nades in a room while you run in or something like that), and it would bring back that arena halo feel.

So what do you guys think?

I’m not a fan of friendly fire. Sure it might add a bit more need for situational awareness, but I feel like the frustration that comes with enabling it far outweighs any positive benefit.

Having to deal with trolls that either kill their teammates or shoot them to knock them out of scope and players acting like children by killing their teammates for a weapon, and being killed by your teammates because of grenade spam are not worth it in my eyes.

If they do enable it, then I would like them to also implement an auto-boot feature that kicks a player from the game should they betray anyone on their team three times (total, not each).

I thought up until now that friendly fire should always be in halo… and than I played in a halo CE game today with a guest that betrayed me and two other people about 16 times each with a warthog.
On one hand it makes you think where you use power weapons and grenades, on the other you get little kids that betray you for power weapons and kill you just to troll.
If they decide add it in and you get betrayed it shouldn’t count as a death for you imo, it should count as the person betraying you’s death

Lol… wut? Did they remove betrayals from Halo 5?

Betrayals should definitely be in. No question. You probably won’t get betrayed on purpose as your rank goes up anyway.

I hate team killing personally

ehhh it depends
halo 4 vehicles were ruined early on by team killers
plasma pistoling and plasma nading you because you got their first
and the boot system would need to fixed
god help us

I don’t know why people hate it so much. If somebody tries to teamkill me, I turn around and snipe them and -Yoink!- them.

lol best thing to do was use a Mantis and stomp on your team mates, it doesn’t even count as a betrayal so you can rack up 20+ betrayals in one life.

I think they should at least have it in certain playlists like “hardcore” and preferably in all competative playlists. Leave it out of social if they leave it out at all.

People hate it for the reasons I, and others, have stated above. Not everyone wants to betray someone for betraying them, and especially in previous games, people that have done so received a kick where their teammate did not.

People take video games way too seriously. ):

With the new mechanics, such as ground pound, I can see Friendly Fire becoming more and more an issue than past Halo games.

I’d like to give the game a shot with it on in order to see which plays best, but if that isn’t an option, I’d be fine with it being left out entirely.

Personally, I’d like to see friendly fire in Warzone and Arena. There has to be balance though where betrayals are concerned.

Yes. Lets promote more team killing. Great idea there.

  1. old topic.

  2. cOld topic because it was confirmed friendly-fire was off for the beta only. And it was because it was a beta.

Of course it should! Anytime someone killed me for my sniper or rocket launcher I would turn into a mass serial killer of my team and the enemy team simultaneously bringing down both at once. People usually wouldn’t kick me for some reason, maybe because I was like the juggernaut and it was pretty fun having to take down someone that can kill 3-4 people before being ganked the -Yoink- out.

The ways you can kill your teammates without aim-assist is staggering, prolonged punch battles, pro DMR headshots, classically running them over,Shotgun blast to the face, just so many ways to kill the criminals. It really is a genuinely fun experience for me until some noob rage-kicks me.

So remember you entitled-to-the-sniper team killing -Yoinks!-, I will end you AND your team…

Friendly fire was one of the main reasons halo came popular

In competitive yes, otherwise no.

I can agree with this but only for stuff that’s REALLY competitive. Anything less than a full team of communicating players shouldn’t have to deal with it.

Grenade Friendly fire only, I don’t see why you would need to shoot your team mate with a gun, or melee them how that can do anything but allow weapon stealing, flag stealing kills, or just general griefing…If they made the grenades only do team damage that would be perfect as if an enemy intentionally throws a grenade at you you can boost out of the way.
