bring back flag juggling

to me one of the big things missing from reach was the joy of being able to juggle the flag. i just love hearing the announcer go flag dropped flag taken flag dropped flag taken and so on while i moved at a decent speed across the pit throwing the flag.

It is in reach. . .

no its not unles its back after the tu

Why don’t we add Bunny Hopping to the frame while we are at it. :stuck_out_tongue:

Nah, I’m glad Bungie added Flag Drop traits. It punishes people who try to do this and carrying the flag should make you vulnerable in terms of speed. Being able to juggle it faster to your base rather then carrying it slowly borderlines between annoying but legitimate to unfair.

It gives away the flag’s position and sounds annoying as hell.

No thanks.

this is a plus for the MLG community although i dont see why they wudnt add it

It’s a trade off between stealth and speed. Also, it takes skill to flag juggle quickly.

I don’t see any problem with it. Why should someone be punished for doing something that requires skill to be good at?

If it wasn’t intended by the developer (Bungie) as such then I think that gives the reason justice.

Bungie didn’t ideally like the premise of Flag-juggling in Halo 3 so they gave the gametypes Flag-Drop Traits. If 343 Industries wants juggling to be present in some gametypes but removed in others, then they should keep and change the Flag-Drop Traits. That’s all.

If it brings people back who actually go for the objective, I can handle hearing

“Flag dropped”
“Flag taken”
“Flag dropped”
“Flag taken”

Over and over and over again.

It was never meant to be that way in the first place. Just because it takes some amount of skill doesn’t make it ideal. You were meant to move stealthily or with a team. Speed was meant to be a deficit when holding the flag. Planning how to sidestep the enemy and get to your base takes more skill than doing a button combo and deftly jogging along, giving away your position anyway.

Two Things you derps need to get straight.

  1. Flag Juggling is in Reach, I do it all the time. Except now, Because there is a longer time between when you can grab it, you have to jump and throw it upwards and catch it when it lands. This is great, because it is more challenging/rewarding then just mashing the drop/pickup buttons when running in a straight line.

  2. They’ve also fixed the announcer settings for Reach, so the announcer voice doesn’t overlap and there is a slight delay between when he can say “Flag Taken” again.

Anyways, you’ve been learned

So as opposed to having a friend ready in a vehicle, or a small group ready to cover you, you sacrifice stealth and situational awareness by hurling the flag in the air over and over while moving it.

That’s a plan Zap Brannigan would come up with.

Zapp Brannigan’s Big Book of War.

Flag running takes skill and removing would decrease the skill gap.

Managing to do this every time is as skilful as it gets.

I appreciate the futurama reference but i wanna point out that MLG doesn’t have a single vehicle to be seen, and Flag Juggling is a very effective way to quickly run the flag.

Now, in regards to BTB, yes, obviously it’s more effective to get a friend to pick you up, and Running the flag in this way would just bring unwanted attention to youself

Flag juggling is the dumbest thing ever and I will never understand how anyone cares for it.

Because it’s significantly faster then walking with it? Play some MLG and get back to me.

There are few things that so quintessentially displays a noobs failure to grasp the finer skills and strategy of Halo multiplayer than their misunderstanding and straight ignorance of the flag juggle.

Eloquently put good sir.

yeah i like it. You either keep it and they cant see were the it is, or you can move
faster with it.
