If you have voted no, please elaborate in the comments
The message is simple. We need to bring back flag dropping and an option to turn of auto-pickup for Halo 4 customs (at the very least), and for that purpose, Iāve made this thread. Vote to bring it back (or not) and Iām sure if we get enough positive votes, 343 will be made aware of the overwhelming positive support for flag dropping/juggling in customs.
So, Waypoint, do you think they should bring back flag dropping in customs? Comment and dicuss below!

Note: This is not a petition (although it may seem that way considering the one-sidedness of the votes). It is a vote, and if it gets enough positive feedback 343 will be made aware of it. A petition is when there is only one option and it is not conducive to discussion.
Quotes from the Community
āMore than anything, this needs to at least be customizable. We were told thatā¦ā āThe more options the betterā āI second this, I donāt think the community as a whole is happy with this decision.ā āHeck, they should bring it back online too.ā āOf course yes, how could you vote no?ā āthe flag should be able to be dropped by default on⦠custom gamesā āThe ability to drop the flag is very important in the halo sandboxā āAs much as iām exited to see how this new flag version plays out iād still like the possibility of playing regular flag too.ā āDefinitely voted yes⦠many more strategies can be built upon that than being locked into the flag.ā āI voted āyesā although I do prefer the way it is now where you canāt drop the flag.ā āFlag drop as a custom option is a must. Itās not even linked with CTF only but with Minigames and CTF variants too.ā āIād love the option to drop the flag to return! Classic CTF is important, no matter how much better/worse the new way is.ā āIām actually glad for the changes to CTF⦠However, you asked if it should be allowed in Custom Games. Of course Iāll say yes. Classic CTF will be impossible without it, and it would just be crazy not to include it just as a possibility.ā āIām happy that 343i are evolving the game as a whole, but⦠it at least needs to be an option⦠if it doesnāt work outā āPlease, please, please, give a āclassicā option to those who want itā āYeah, why not?.. Some people just want to play old-school flag. Adding this option in is a way to do that.ā āit needs - at the very least - to be made an option in Custom Gamesā āYES YES YESā āOnly blind fanboys would be against more customizationā āYou have my vote. Love flag dropping.ā

I thought Iād move my thread over here, since this one seems to be getting the most exposure.
I really shouldnāt have to go into detail as to why flag-dropping adds depth to the game, but I comprised a short list explaining the details.
- No longer the ability to flag juggle. No longer the choice between flag juggling or not flag juggling. No longer the option between shooting or moving the flag. No longer the tactic of passing the flag up a level. (Imagine Countdown bottom -> Flag level) No longer the ability to co-ordinate a pass of the flag to someone more suited to running the flag. No longer the ability to bait nades with the flag Enforcing a single and mind-bogglingly basic strategy of "Protect one flag carrier through the flag route" Since all caps must now be committed to, no longer the option of any non-committal flag tactics (eg. throwing the flag out of the base to prevent their cap) Creativity lost in terms of ways to capture the flag.
As you can see, flag-dropping added creativity in CTF, as well as depth of strategy. Removing flag-dropping doesnāt enable any new strategies either, since all of these would have been possible with flag-dropping aswell.
Even if you are adamant at 343 that removing a perfectly function mechanic from the game, then so be it.
But we need an option to put it back in.
You said a while back that all of the new features would be customizable in the options menu, so you would be straight out lying if this were not able to be disabled.

Literally, everything you said is true. Even if the option isnāt in MM, it absolutely irrevocably needs to be a customs option!
