Bring back Firefight/Co-Op matchmaking :)

I’d like to see Firefight and Co-Op matchmaking make a comeback on X1. Hours of entertainment. Plus, co-op achievements would be a lot more accessible.

Yes. I would love to see campaign matchmaking, firefight limited and firefight arcade matchmaking in halo 5

Firefight to me (opinion) seemed more like odst’s special thing, reach didn’t do well with it because spartans do more running and gunning. I would like to see them do something different, I found spartan ops more enjoiable than reach’s firefight but just didn’t have replayability.

That’s mainly because Reach’s firefight didn’t have the option to recreate anything close to ODST’s firefight. You had unlimited ammo crates for a start and there was no way to have an ODST-style skull setup.

If they brought back ODST’s style of Firefight, it’d be a lot better experience (and don’t flood the matchmaking playlists with Arcadefight, Rocketfight, etc).

This. By the end of Reach, it was just ridiculous. There was no option to play the good old Firefight.

I think the basic mode should have no ammo caches, very limited ammo on spawn and definitely no armor abilities. Also, there should be a meaningful boss wave (like the Brute chieftain was in ODST) that would be extra challenging.

I have a random idea: how about every round (which is 5 waves, I think) would have the player fight a different enemy type? Imagine this: first, the player fights a good old round of Covies, in all their glory. The ground is littered with static bodies. Then in the second round, darkness falls and a flood meteor/thing crashes in the background. Suddenly hundreds of Flood infection forms begin infecting enemy bodies (the ones you just killed) and start fighting you. Then, in the later waves, the Flood mothership sends pure forms and boss characters. In the final wave, a giant orange laser begins scanning you and the Flood, and Pronetheans start spawning around you, obliterating the Flood with their incinerating weapons. For this one wave, you fight together, but the Prometheans would quickly turn on you, beginning the final round of the set which is Promethean-centric.

Excellent suggestions! Keep this subject alive! 343i needs to see we are serious about getting FF back into Halo. Everyone has great ideas for Firefight. I think we all feel that it needs to make a return in Halo 5 and all subsequent Halo titles. That being said, we as a community desperately need to keep this topic alive and well. Place your vote in the poll at the top of this forum and add your suggestions to ours. This is very important to myself and many others. Please keep this topic alive, and front and center. Maintain a deliberate focus on bringing back FF. Thanks.
