I agree. Every game I have played is just people spamming the BR or DMR, then going on about how much skill they have.
Halo 2 was much better because teams had to work together to get and hold the better weapons. Now its just aim and spam the trigger.
Swat will be brought in on next weeks update, it was al the second half of the bulletin talked about yesterday.
My AR or Storm Rifle -Yoinks!- BR or DMR users up at close range.
Also I voted no because I thought this was one of those “we hate the new matchmaking bring back the old stuff” thread. Guess not
I can’t wait for a SWAT playlist though!
I believe we already have a classic playlist, it’s called Team Slayer Pro. And in terms of the loadouts in that playlist, I do believe it is just there to stop DMR vs BR vs AR starts arguments.
I do agree with adding a SWAT playlist though.

I would like to see a playlist where everyone spawns with the same weapons and no weapon spawns on the map and no ordinance drops. Let players duke it out with the same weapons to see who comes out on top on a level playing field
I like the new system honestly, personal ordinance could be(should be) toned to mid tier weapons.
If too many snipers show up it kinda kills most maps

Weapon spawns on the map are there to give incentive for players to fight for key points/control certain areas of the map. That’s what competitive fps is about, map control, and engagement control. Without either of these, H4 is going down the pan.

Exactly. Map and weapon control are two concepts that affect the strategy of games and the flow of the maps, but they’re absent in Halo 4. Slayer games don’t feel as deep as prior Halos. They feel more like COD, in a bad way…
:x Slayer Pro is there for a reason… for you (pro’s) who have such trouble with the ordinance system.

I don’t need power weapon spawns dictating what places I hold on the map… and I think there’s a lot more variety and replay value now that people can formulate their OWN strategies on what strong holds are most beneficial to control.
I admit that I miss the ability to find and use new weapons on the fly when I get bored or run out of ammo; not to mention the chaos those weapon spawn choke points can cause at the beginning of a match, but Halo 4 is less than a week old so lets go ahead and give it a little more time before deciding.
As for a “Halo Classic” playlist, I wouldn’t count on that too soon for the aforementioned reason that the game is quite new and they want players to at least get familiar with the new flow of combat and the systems in place before just slushing that all away.
I do not mind having the load outs for BR/BMR/AR but the ordnance drops are rather silly. Proper on map weapon placement for power weapons forces player to be more strategic about when and where to go.
Please don’t turn this into another COD, we already have one of those for this year…
I agree, this load out system makes the game feel very UN-Halo. Put regular weapons on the map, make it where you pick up grenades without an upgrade. Level the playing field again. I don’t like all this Call of Duty crap that 343 has put into this game.
Weapon placement on the map is a basic Halo concept that shouldn’t be taken out of matchmaking. I think that Big Team is one of the playlist that should have the original Halo settings. I guess 343 thinks that this new “fast paced” game means that you will die enough that you don’t need to pickup map spawned weapons because you will be dead before you run out of ammo. That just isn’t always the case, I have ran out of basic ammo and the weapons on the map are too far and few between.
I understand slayer pro is similar, but it’s SO CLOSE to being what is perfect for me it bugs me haha. The only changes from the ideal playlist from Pro I want to see is the addition of a radar, NO choice of anything (Classic Halo style/a lot of classic FPS’s style) and No waypoints for the weapons. It’s a reasonable request I believe, considering it’s a very easy addition to the game that doesn’t affect any significantly fundamental part of the game.
