Bring Back Even Games

One of my favorite things about Halo was how each team was effectively the “same” on all two-team objective or Slayer maps, both inside and out of Big Team Battle.

How did this go so wrong in Infinite? I just played through a full match where, after watching vehicle spawns, the other team was afforded both a Wraith and a Scorpion where my team was afforded a Mongoose, and another Mongoose. Who designed this? Who approved this as a positive gameplay aspect? It’s extremely unfair and no amount of “get good” or “tough luck” argument makes it acceptable for someone to have approved this concept.

While we’re on the topic of vehicles, just bring it back to old-school BTB. Why in the world are we restricted to very limited, randomized vehicle spawns? Why is it that large-scale team-coordinated battles with vehicles had to be removed in favor of a lottery that might give teams a chance to shred with Tanks and other attack vehicles.

Also… planting grenades? That’s not a one hit thing anymore? Why should I bother getting close to a tank for a risky takedown when it takes two or three lands to even dent the thing? Was this change done to balance how broken EMP rifles can be from across the map? I’d rather lose every EMP weapon in exchange for old vehicle mechanics back.

This is just unfun. It’s gross, and horribly incompetent game design from a baseline perspective.
