Bring Back Equipment in Halo 5!

T4R. Equipment greatly added to Halo 3 and was balanced since it, along with power-ups and weapons, were placed strategically on the map and only a few people could have them at a time.

Maybe include the following:

Bubble Shield
Trip Mine

Regenerator

Overshield

Camo

What do you guys think?

Worst idea ever. Regenerator was horse crap. Same with bubble. It was a last resort savior for the bad players.

I find this would be a great idea, i was thinking the same thing, especially for campaign

The competitive community would probably disagree with you. That being said, if it were to replace Spartan Abilities I would take it in a heartbeat. It has much more potential to be balanced well, it’s a map pickup that doesn’t affect base player traits, and if all else fails, it can be deleted off the maps in forge. It would be a lot better than having a bunch of different abilities permanently glued to your Spartan at all times.

No… never.

At the rate of all the different abilities already. We’ll need a bigger controller for all these actions.

The only ones I want to see back are the bubble shield, trip mine and grav lift but that is only for forging/custom game purposes. :slight_smile:

LMFAO. Regen and bubble shield… in such a fast paced game? No, just no. Sprint+Prophets bane is BS enough.

The competitive community can just use maps that don’t have equipment placed on them.

I always liked equipment in Halo 3, I see no reason why it shouldn’t return.

Here we are, a few days into a beta for a game that won’t launch for a year… and before our very eyes we see the pendulum beginning to swing back again. Power ups, no power ups. AAs, no AAs. Sprint, no sprint. Bloom, no bloom. Ground Pound, no… well, you get the idea. I can’t imagine a more splintered, schizophrenic community than the one 343i has to put up with. My heart breaks for them…

I hope to just see the return of map pickup overshield and camo. I’d like to see them come up with one or two more new modifiers too.

Huh? Pretty sure I wasn’t a bad player and I used equipment all the time. If it’s on the map, I’m going to use it. You sound like the people who get upset about me using rockets all the time. If you don’t want me to use them, get to them first! People didn’t understand the weaknesses of the equipment. A decent grenade throw timed with a BR shot would kill anyone in a regen.

I could care less if equipment ever made it back in the game. I always thought you should be able to see if someone is carrying equipment, just like secondary weapons. If equipment replaced spartan abilities, I’d be all for it. Having different loadouts goes against everything Halo was originally meant to be. Every player is meant to start with the same weapons and grenades.

Provide some reasons for why you don’t like the idea rather than being a troll.
