Because griffball is way over rated… It’s still in MCC if you want to play the original version.

Grifball was underpopulated as a social mode. It’s very hard to see it maintaining consistent matches in ranked.

How would that even work…you cant really BALANCE a game based around internet speed and luck for the most part.
It was never supposed to be competitive ot begin with…I mean, HELL, do we forget it literally came into existence from ONE LINE in RvB?

plus the farming in grifball ruins it, all it would be is a massive spawn trap

Literally this. It was underpopulated as a Social Playlist as it was, and the people who were playing it mostly consisted of people who played it religiously, apart of Grifball Spartan Companies, and they’d farm for the entirety of the session. It was hardly even worth touching anymore.
Grifball (original grifball) was never about competetive play. Not like MLG or HCS at least. You played it to lol with your friends and earn double EXP, not get “famous” for spawn killing for killionaires’.

I think the problem with that is then most games would just turn into spawn killing, waiting to score at last minute…sure people do it now but if we add ranked then I’m pretty sure people will be doing it more often than usual, it end up as being as bad as Warzone Assault spawn killing.
Competitive… Grifball??? Ya… I don’t think the two go together personally. Grifball is just s fun silly mode of play.
Pounding losers, nice… Anyway, Grifball isn’t permanently gone since it now comes back as a Social rotational playlist. I read in a different thread that it’s actually back today.
Grifball just came back but there was hardly anyone in the playlist for a reason. Ranked would garner a even lower population with spawn trapping.
When was grifball ever competitive?
I agree. I miss grifball. It’s my favorite game mode. BRING IT BACK!!!
