Bring back betraying in social!

No, I’m talking about the pop-up a person sees when they get betrayed. The same pop up that has been in Halo for many years. “Hold X” to Boot the Betrayer.

You must be thinking about when 343 screwed up the Master Chief Collection where they allowed a bug to continue for months where Hosts were able to kick anyone in the match, for whatever reason, even in Ranked.

It definitely be nice to see a team punished after firing a rocket launcher at me while his teammates next to me

back then the boot player system in halo 4 and older are compleet broken in a lot off way’s like.
player A is the host.

if player B trow’s a plasma grenate to the enemy and player A is coming to walking or running to close to it and get also killt by player B plasma grenate then can player A boot player B from the match when it was compleet player A fault for not looking there is a plasma grenate there but Player B gets boot from the game for betraying the host.
and run that senario a lot off time with diffrend weapons the same way then its not that fun at some point any more.

and if you have play the older halo’s a lot you have see that senario a lot off time’s.

there are players that if there know there are the host there can abuse it also to boot there other team members also by letting then kill him so that he can boot then.

its better to have no betraying system in social playlist’s then some that is compleet broken.

that was from the broken system.
that boot system was so broken in a lot off way’s that its better to have Friendly fire off then on.

in general more the social playlist most have friendly fire off and no betraying system since if the other player make’s the mistake by walking or running to the hot zone and gets hit by a rocket launcher or plasma grenate from a team member then he gets the betray for the mistake his team make more

I admit I’d do that sometimes to people lmao.

A “broken” system that existed all the way up until Infinite’s release… yeah, sure…

I thought it was pretty clear cut and dry… Sometimes you have accidents, sometimes that player is just a troll but I personally only got kicked for Betrayals maybe 4, possibly 5 or 6 games in TOTAL out of the thousands of matches in Halo 5 where I didn’t get booted. The system worked just fine. My guess is 343 took Friendly Fire away to lower the skill gap a little bit more in Infinite’s Social playlists…

Once again, there is a reason why Friendly Fire is ON in Ranked and Professional level game play because it requires skill and it trains players to play more strategically. Especially if you’re into squadding up and communicating with your team.

You make it sound like teamkilling is the best part of the game.

first off all halo 4 and halo 5 are compleet diffrend story’s.

in halo 5 you got almost no large range maps to play on so betraying there was not commen there.

in halo 4 you got here and there large range maps to play on so the betraying by mistake from the other player was more commen there.

since if you use a spartan laser to destroy the banshee and one team make is hijacking it and you kill him also with the spartan laser then you can boot from the match for it if he is the host.

same if you blow up the enemy warthog with the spartan laser and a team make is hijacking it.

so thats 2 compleet diffrend things between halo 4 and halo 5 with the layout off the maps if there are more large maps in the game mistake’s like that are going to happing more.
and if there are almost no large maps then the betraying is almost zero.

my point i wane make clear is more that with it is that with the booting system if the host or any team member make’s a mistake and go’s to the plase at the wrong time and get killt by a attack from there own team mate’s and also kills the enemy team player that he can be boot from the match by a other players fault for staying there at the wrong place at the wrong time.

if you wane have a social playlist with game type’s with friendly fire on then add a hardcore social playlist then in the game.
its the same thing COD has been doing for years in there game’s.
there have a social playlist with friendly fire off.
and hardcore playlist with friendly on.
with the same game tyoe’s in both.

Enough babying and enough safety wheels.

Turn on collision, turn on friendly fire. Just do it already.

I’ll be the one to admit sometimes it is lol. Sometimes fun to derp around!

This is an example where they found out what they could get away with and abused it.

This is why it only takes a few to ruin things for everyone.

Unless you can give an actual solution to the problem that they can work with, then the answer is always going to be no.

Them’s the breaks unfortunately…

Seriously feels like 343 is trying so hard to water down the classic Halo experience in an attempt to appease non-Halo fans.

No friendly fire, no player collision, outlines instead of Red vs Blue, sprint/slide/clamber, ADS. All things you expect to not be in a Halo game shoved in despite fan disapproval.

FF should be in the game. If not to discourage some of the worst grenade spam in Halo history, then simply because it makes players have to pay attention to the game. You can still splatter teammates in social, and there are a myriad of ways to troll/annoy your teammates without friendly fire being a factor.

If 343 is worried about trolling FF, why not implement reverse friendly fire like in R6S? That has almost completely stopped trolling teammates in Rainbow and it doesn’t hurt the gameplay. Mistakes are still punished, and repeated harassments of teammates results in you dying. RFF could be enabled after a betrayal, or if you’re worried about people peppering their teammates without killing them, after a certain threshold of friendly damage has been met

The only real problem is grenade spamming and encouragement of careless gameplay. People who want to betray are a dime a dozen…

It’s not a real issue considering how rare it is. Besides, what if I’m in a really close game of say total control on high power and some totally useless player is waiting for the wasp?

I’m gonna kill him and take it. Sometimes betraying is good.

Shouldn’t have took my BR/DMR then :stuck_out_tongue: JKJK

I don’t understand how anyone can think removing FF solely for the potential annoyance of being team shot is OK.

One of many skill-based factors of any shooter is controlling your shots, grenades, rockets or anything that can do damage.

I find the same people that don’t get this are also the ones that think the player outlines and glint are perfectly fine. lol what a joke

People killed teammates in both Halo 2 and Halo 3/Reach’s multiplayer all the time. Exp if you just happen to grab a weapon, vehicle or item that they wanted.

It happened so much that Bungie implemented the betrayer system that kicked people who team killed too much. Which apparently wasn’t enough considered they got rid of Friendly Fire entirely in this game.

Problem there is that in social games, most people don’t care about showing off skill at all. If you haven’t been to these forums, people complain about having to “sweat” in social all the time.

Yes bad teams/players will have more friendly fire, and it should be a part of Halo.
If a player kills 2-3 teammates then he should get kicked out.

The problem here is that we’re already having a very unfun time dealing with wretched game abandoners turning our matches into 3 vs 4 stomp fests. This will actually increase the frequency everyone is going to be dealing with this problem.

As much as I’d like friendly fire so people were less grenade happy, I’d rather not get targeted for having a narrower waistline and cat ears, thanks.

Before Infinite, it was so annoying to get shot by stupid teammate or betrayer ! No friendly fire is the best thing Infinite have down !
