Bring back betraying in social!

Not everything has to be competitive that’s what ranked is all about! Social should be non competitive so why take out betrayals? Never could understand why it would stay in ranked and be shelved with social?

I think it was to reduce player’s deliberately hassling team-mates.

You’d think by now the game could easily tell if someone was being deliberately shot by a team-mate.

Once you get to "x’ amount of damage inflicted - kick them.

I agree 100% bring it back!!!

Whether it is social or ranked there should be consequences to those that spam grenades and such. It changed the complete dynamic of the game… also player collision…. A topic for another day

People would test it till they figured out how the system works. Then figure out what they can get away with before it kicks you.

Eventually someone one will post their findings on yourube/net and everyone then will know.

it most not coming back at all.

back in the old halo’s i have see a lot off people betraying there own team mate’s for stupid reasons.
some off then betray only for the fun and to destroy other players fun.
and some off the betray’s are about a weapon that a other team mate pick up first and betray then for that weapon only.

so it most never coming back at all.

Social is meant for fun. In social i dont have to mind if:

  • i spam grenades
  • i fire the rocket launcher midst in a group of player because it will only do damage to the opponents

Friendly fire belongs only in ranked game modes

Cod has a system where damage gets reflected by to you after x amount. It’ll just kill you and give you longer and longer respawns. Works great imo.

you mean the Hardcore Ricochet system.

but there not using that type system any more in the hardcore playlist’s.
the last time there use that type system in the hardcore playlist was in Cod Infinite Warfare.
after that there have not use it any more in any hardcore playlist in the cod titels.
the only reason there not using it any more since it has also a abuse side from it.
since there are always funny guy’s that make sure there team mate’s shoot on then or get hit by it so that he gets the hit and not then.

but still its a compleet diffrend story what you think is good for halo.
in the hardcore playlist’s from COD titels your damage is higher then normal and you health is lower then normal.
in halo social playlist’s the health and damage are the same as in ranked only Swat is a diffrend story since its a one shot kill with no shields game type.

Probably to prevent toxicity from individuals who aren’t to keen on sharing, or are in general, spiteful.

You took the wasp from me? After I and 3 other players camped it out? Destroyed.

You took my gun? Lemme melee you every 7 seconds so your shields are always down, or kill you when the enemy pops your shields so it doesn’t count as me killing you.

Like yeah, it’s social, but you don’t want your own team messing you over becuase you did something that upset them.

The people who kept your shields down so the enemy could one shot you were so annoying. They do not even get the betrayal notice, because they have not actuallly killed you. People will always find a way to annoy us and get away with it, as much as they can.

but with the betray system remove from the social playlist there cant annoy you in a way that it effect’s your game play that hard like in the older halo day’s.
so what you take the sniper first and a other player wane use it also then he cant steal it any more from you.

and the betray system was also compleet broken in halo 4 and older.
since there was 1 host or 2 and if the player that is killing there own team mates is the host then that team is doomd like hell

I know. Thing is, I would rather have FF turned on. But I just can’t with these people in your team.

i understand that good but we have see all that with the FF turned on in a social playlist that the toxicity level in the social playlist’s have become high and that a lot off people use it for the stupids reasons more and abuse it more.
that you make a mistake here and there sure.

but use it to make sure no other team members can use some type off power weapons or vehicles is going to far.

I’m tired of people getting in the line of fire. I would hope friendly fire would make people actually look where their team is instead of blocking shots.

Granted, it sucks that the one firing is thrown out. Heck it is annoying in MCC. You get one chance and then you’re on the chopping block and I’ve had too many accidents but the person took it serious.

Heck, even crashing bans you for an hour in Infinite.

I would like betraying to come back, but 343 is so much harsher on their punishments.

I prefer Friendly Fire ON, only because it trains players to play the game better. There’s a reason why it is active in Ranked and not in Social.

Friendly Fire OFF teaches players to blindly run through their allies explosions and also encourages grenade spam instead of more strategic tactics. In Social, I will carelessly shoot a rocket or toss a Dynamo grenade down the hallway filled with my team mates because I know it will only affect my enemies. In Ranked, I would never be that reckless to put my team’s lives in danger unless the game was on the line or something.

The only thing I like about Friendly Fire being OFF is if a salty team mate tries to betray you for a power-up or weapon or some other foolish reason.

If the player kills a team mate than one time in a single match, then bring back the old Betrayal pop-up from the golden days of Halo. If the player kills a team mate more than one time in multiple matches, then pop-up a warning message. If they betray and get booted again after the warning(expires after 24 hours), it becomes a temporary hour ban or something. Each betrayal+kick after the ban just restarts the hour ban over and over(expires after 24 hours from first ban).

that system was compleet broken since only the host from the team can kick then out off the match.
if you play a 4 vs 4 match and 1 player on your team is the host and also the guy that betraying there own team mate’s then the other 3 players cant do notting about it to kick him out off the match.
so its a compleet broken system.

and let me tell you it has happing to me in halo 4 that we got one funny guy that was betraying there own team and he was the host also so nobody from the team has the power to kick him from the match for doing that.
i can tell you it was no fun at all.

its not working on all the game type’s good.
take grifball.
back in halo 3 and halo reach it was the nummber 1 game type with the lot off betray’s you can get easy and fast.

the only thing i see now more is to add a 3th playlist more in the halo serie’s.
if you add a hardcore playlist in the halo serie’s then the social playlist can keep have the Friendly fire off.
and use the hardcore playlist rule’s more like you have in cod titels.

Yeah, I clearly was not referring to using a broken system from decades ago… I was referring to the decades old Betrayal pop-up that use to be more frequent in the franchise.

Obviously, Friendly Fire can be turned OFF for specific game modes like this.

All the betraying we are able to do now is splatter are own team mates!
But trolls will be trolls it’s social.
It’s a wonder why the population is dropping in halo across the spectrum all these unnecessary changes being added or changed over the years with 343i.
Not everything has to be based around MLG or whatever they are calling it now a days!

you mean more that the host got the option to kick that player from the match or not pop-up?

now you never know when some developers are not thinking that good like we have see with bungie back in the day’s.

Yea there was nothing wrong with the boot player option! But again to some it is a Unnecessary change.
Take all the fun out of Halo!
