Bring back all the gametypes from Halo 3 and Reach

Halo 5 only has CTF, Strongholds, and Oddball (which they only added like a year ago). It also had 4v4 Assault at one point I’m pretty sure but that was like 2 years ago when they got rid of it. They even slapped us in the face by adding KOTH but only putting it on 1 map in Action Sack. To me this makes the game get boring extremely fast when every playlist features Slayer as the only gametype besides The Arena and BTB.

Halo 3 and Reach had so much more variety with KOTH, Territories, Juggernaut, VIP, Headhunter, Stockpile, Race. Not to mention the variations of these gametypes like Mosh Pit, One Flag, One Bomb, Neutral Assault, Land Grab, Rocket Race, and Rocket Hog Race. Also there were FFA version of KOTH, Oddball, Juggernaut, and Headhunter instead of in Halo 5 where FFA is just Slayer.

I know players who enjoy objective game modes will always be the minority (especially with the younger generation taking over) but they should still have the option to enjoy objective game modes instead of being forced to mindlessly kill people every game. I don’t know anyone who would complain about a game having more modes to play as long as they can still stick to their Social Slayer playlist.

That being said I’m almost positive H6 will ship with either just Slayer variations, or maybe 2 or 3 objective modes like H5 has. Does anyone else miss the days when objective gametypes were a bigger part of Halo? Before Super Fiesta warranted it’s own playlist

I loved Halo 3 Mythic, but not as much as I loved Reach! So yes, I agree with this to the fullest extent

RIP Rocket Race :frowning:

Whadda they look like, circa 1994–2010 Bungie?

More like a knockoff brand. Like a pair of Jordans with the Jumpman doing a layup

What about Invasion?
iirc it was sort of a precursor to what Warzone is.

Invasion was fun my only problem with it is it only had 2 maps so it got boring fast. They added 1 in in the first map pack I think and a couple of conmunity forge maps later but that wasn’t enough to stop it from being stale.

I remember it being pretty fun, and the maps were big so that was cool.
Going for the Skunked! achievement was a rewarding challenge!

As part of the objective minority, I concur with this. I was outraged when I learned Halo 5 didn’t have Oddball. Glad it returned, but why was it not there in the first place?

Man, the likes of Headhunters, Invasion, Juggernaut, Stalker/Ninjanaut and Race are all sorely missed gametypes. They’re so much fun that I just can’t understand why they’ve been left behind.

Seriously, load up up some classic four-player splitscreen Juggernaut on Halo CE’s Sidewinder or Halo 2’s Containment with some friends or family, and if you don’t have an absolute blast playing it then I’ll never touch a Halo game again.

Or how about Headhunters? The stress and excitement of carrying too many eggs in one basket while trying to steal as many more as you can on the way to your delivery destination on Pinnacle; that is easily amongst my favourite experiences ever in Halo.

And then Invasion and Race… Well, those just go without saying. They need to return.
