Everyone is well aware of the complaints that people have given the story line of Halo 5: Guardians. Personally I think the story was fantastic, and could see it flushing out into all sorts of conflicts, inner and outer. But I will agree that the crossover from Halo 4 to Halo 5, without expanded universe help, is a hell of a jump. So I think an easy way to help bridge the gap in the story arc would be to place a smaller spin off title, like ODST, in between 4 and 5. Here me out on this, it will be lengthy but I think understandable.
We call it Halo Crimson.
and you guessed it, lets fill with a new round of Crimson Team Spartan Ops action.
While a psychologically crippled Master Chief attempts to combat his distressed emotions after the traumatic conclusion to Halo 4, Crimson team, because of its stellar reputation, is given a task of investigating random, but very large, forerunner events taking place all of the galaxy. Something has stirred up to universe and they need to figure out why. Of course this is Cortana. In Halo 5 everyone seems to already know Cortana is still alive and kicking and while it is entirely possible everyone does know, there should be some explanation. So Crimson pieces together this mysterious enigma shaking up the forerunner and Promethean forces alike. After coming to a semi decent conclusion, some kind of cataclysmic event happens that forces Crimson to retreat and pull the infinity out. But as they leave a distress call from Spartan Blue Team echoes through the Infinity and Crimson and Majestic are called in to extract Blue Team before they leave. After a heroic rescue mission of the Spartan IIs, we end the game with a heart felt (as heart felty as a Spartan can muster) reunion with John and family. Thus providing the basis for Blue Teams arrival, and the necessary kick that John needed to put himself back in action. This would help conclude the “Human vs Machine” plot in Halo 4, give us another Spartan Ops run, give 343i a little bit of pocket change (they have given us all free dlc people, don’t complain about pricing) and set up Halo 5 for its story.
Just a thought. Now I have read Glasslands but not Thursday War, so if things happen in Thursday War I am missing, that is fine. I get that the books are an integral part of the universe at this point but the games remain Prime Canon, Bungie said it with Reach and I will hold it to this day. So, unless its constructive to the forum I don’t want to see responses of “Well that woldnt works its ot part iif the boaks”
Thank you for reading and have a nice day!
