Is anybody else confused as to why 343 didn’t make spectating in Breakout first person as opposed to third person?
If you and your teammates are in a Live chat party you can still talk after you are dead, giving opportunity for ghosting with third person. You can definitely see slightly beyond the players actual view and call out enemy placement just barely beyond their visibility.
I thought perhaps they could require users to use the in-game chat to avoid ghosting or switch to first person spectating as to not offer this exploit. Not to mention breakout would be WAAAAAAY more spectator friendly and even more eSport oriented if it were first person. With the influence Twitch has has on eSports and the community, first person spectating is where it’s at in my opinion.
nobody feels the same? I’m surprised i haven’t found this already posted on the first 4 pages of the forum.
I agree it should be 1st person, it makes for more epic moments too!
Yeah, first person would be cool. It would let you get in the mindset of the last man standing and you could call out enemies on the screen like you would as a kid when you took turns on the couch.
If you’re “spectating” a match you’re actually in, then you’re not really spectating. You’re just watching from a team mate’s camera as you’ve always been able to do in Halo. If you actually use spectator mode to watch a friend play the game then you have the option of first- or third-person, although you’re watching the game on about a two to three minute delay so as to avoid the obvious problem of calling out enemy positions in a private chat.

I see what you’re saying. Perhaps I should have worded it differently. I have yet to try out the actual spectating features.
Hopefully 343 catches on. With all they’ve done to gear this towards eSports, and with streaming being such a staple in game communities, I’m surprised they didn’t go first person off the bat. Thankfully these forums exist
