I watching the Act Man on Youtube and he was talking about Breakout and how its “underrated”. And he went to say that as of today, August 1st, it is now unranked. Yep, just got on and checked and it is now unranked. Breakout was pretty cool, it was something that was new to H5. Just kind of sad to see it become unranked. Wonder why they made it unranked
It may have been due to the community not exactly enjoying it, or willing to play it. So it was changed to a social, these sort of things happen quite a lot as of late. If only a portion of the community enjoys something, while the rest do not, they change or remove it.
Probably because most don’t like it and it’s not being played. Probably to low of a population to support ranks
The only reason they are probably keeping it is due to it having commendations tied to it.
I feel like ranks make games less enjoyable. I can’t enjoy playing a ranked playlist unless we always win. I don’t like ranking low.
Breakout being a social playlist means I can play by myself and enjoy it.
Breakout’s ranks were also some of the most complained about in terms of accuracy. I know of many who played it (including myself) with a teammate for all 10 qualifying matches and got drastically different rankings. Now obviously not all players are equal in terms of skill but the ranks didn’t match the skill.
Example: 2 players play the same 10 matches, go 5-5, one has a +20.0 KDA only going negative in two of the 10 matches (both losses). The other has a -34.7 KDA only going positive in one of the 10 matches (a loss that the other player was also positive in). The first player also had multiple round winning kills that the other player lacked. The first player was rather upset that he got a bronze 1 rank. The second player was content with a bronze 4 rank. Both players couldn’t understand how player 1 was ranked 3 levels below player 2 when he had played a far superior game.
I had a similar situation with my wife but we were 2 levels apart not 3. This makes it hardly seem like the rank matters so why bother even having it ranked?
I feel like Breakout should just be replaced all together with an Action Sack playlist, or another permanent playlist that would be more populated. Like maybe an Social Slayer, solo only Obj/Slayer gametype, or ranked Snipers.
and now you click to play Breakout and you join a match in progress and 99% of the time the team you are joining is losing 4-0 because the players quit!!Sucks!!

This, and a low population are what caused it to go social.
There’s no way in hell you’re surviving a full game of breakout unless you hardcore farm/smurf with it being ranked.

Breakout won’t be removed because of the commendations attached to the gamemode.
I agree with adding an action sack playlist though, as the forge community has made great mini-games that people could play.
Removing the rank system from Breakout is a pretty suck asss decision. True that the community for the playlist was small but it was quite tight knit and on the whole games were competitive.
I don’t feel it will become more popular now its social, and I love Doubles but its a playlist well known to fall over because players quit more often than not when on the end of a bad scoreline, especially due to the nature of power weapon domination with snipers etc.

Because it’s not a good playlist to play competitively. Doubles was an Original ranked playlist, i’m glad they made the switch.

Well, in the higher ranks in breakout I, and others were unable to get matches. By removing ranks, I imagine we would be able to match with others without much of a delay.

That being said, I have commendations to complete. Slayer, CTF and strongholds are done…
