I think I speak for a lot of people when I want a breakout only game mode. I hate extermination and it ruins the experience.when I want to play breakout I only want to play breakout.
The problem I had with breakout is it had its own maps which means it took time and resources away from the regular 4v4 which I enjoy much more. If they brought back breakout I’d want them to just use regular maps that fit the mode.

there is custom maps bc a lot of other maps are to big and not linear enough
I’m sure breakout would return to some extent in Halo Infinite. It (alongside its extermination counterpart) had a decent reception from players.

Extermination is what I want to get rid of it ruins breakout
Breakout is way too competitive for me. I mind the inclusion of the mode in the future, because it could mean the game would again (like H5) turn out to be mostly sweaty in stead of primarily chill and casual friendly.

I spent nearly all the time I played H5 in breakout, I love it, but I don’t think it needs to be a gametype itself. It’s neutral flag with no shields, no need to further complicate it.
I didn’t personally care much for Breakout. In my opinion, I found to be more of a competitive mode which is fine. Just not my cup of tea. I perfer BTB with objectives. Now with all that said if Breakout has a big enough following and it did well as far as player population goes, I think it should be in Infinite. I hope Infinite has atleast a little something that everyone wants.
As long as its not the new breakout I’d love for it to return. Breakout at launch was really fun, then they added pistols, snipers, full shields. It got kinda dumb real quick.

Breakout was new, different and fun in my opinion and I completely agree with you. Extermination isn’t bad but should be separate from breakout as they are different game modes in their own rights with a few similarities
I like the one life multi-round based gameplay a lot but would prefer if it played more like the regular game otherwise.
Should just have a forgable option for the game mode.
