Have they made it so you cant get medals in breakout themed games in action sack, so no way to get those commendations for the magnum opus?

yeah they have paintball & mantis breakout where you can get all those medals. Someone can correct me if I am wrong.
-last time action sack was around I got the immortal medal for surviving every round of paintball (I think this is what you mean)
You can get those medals for sure in Action Sack. That means they should sync up in your medal chest on Waypoint, but I personally have not checked if this is the case.
Paintball and Mantis Breakout will give you progress towards the Breakout commendations, including that dreaded Immortal one. Have no fear.

So- theoretically- I’d finally be able to make progress on Against All Odds by playing Paintball?

Although it doesnt show any medals post game lobby for paintball so you may have to verify on waypoint. Not sure if mantis breakout is the same

Yes, yes, and yes. I’ve played that mode more than enough times knowing that I’ve gained progress towards that Against All Odds commendation.

Mantis Breakout will give you the medals required for the Breakout commendations. I’ve seen it myself on the carnage report, so there’s nothing to worry about.

I think 343 may have deemed that a little too easy and changed it. I played Paintball today, ended up 1 on 3, and managed to clinch a victory. Looking at my commendations, I still don’t have progress for Against All Odds. I haven’t seen Mantis Breakout yet, though.
It’s kinda difficult to get the immortal commendations solo queuing into mantis breakout and the against all odds in paintball so if anyone else is looking to complete them can you message me
