Could anyone share some info on why they chose to have a different damage model for breakout. The gametype seems like it could be fun and it’s nice to see them try something different, but why does it have it’s own damage model.

I believe breakout is inspired by paintball, but perhaps I was reading too much into some of those Sprint Videos. Nonetheless, one life, low shields, tight playing space = intensity. Its Counter Strike’s fy_iceworld meets Halo.
Breakout, it’s got less than 1 second, 3-shot kills with precision weapons. Halo: CE was a 600ms 3SK-precision spawning game… Party on!
I thoroughly enjoyed Breakout in the beta so that’s the game mode I’m looking forward to most.
I enjoy the intensity that goes along with Breakout. It makes you watch you and your teammates back more than ever before. I’m looking forward to a mode where caution and communication are key.
the quicker the kill time the less time you have to run away and hide. this means you actually have to commit to your movements you also can’t just respawn. once you die thats it you’re out for the round.
It looks like it will be sweet.
