In Extermination I believe the Unstoppable/Immortal and Breakout Victories Commendations are pretty much the same. The confusing one in Extermination is the 1v2+ Against All Odds Commendation. Obviously if you’re down to 1v2 and kill the remaining spartans before anyone respawns, you’d get one point towards the Commendation.
But what happens when respawns happen on each side? If you’re down to 1v2, people respawn, and you win the round without dying, does that count towards the Commendation? Do YOU have to be the one to eliminate those spartans you’re left against?
Not sure about the Against All Odds commendation, but the Immortal one isn’t quite as simple. You don’t actually have to live for the whole game you just have to make sure you are alive at the end of every round. Obviously if you lose a round this will become impossible, but as long as you win every round and you are alive at the end of every round you can actually die a few times and still get the medal.

This. It’s because the medal just checks that you’re alive at round end because Breakout was intended as a 1 life per round game mode. So instead of it checking for 0 deaths, it checks for you being alive or not.
Perfections in Slayer actually have an issue like this. It doesn’t check for 0 deaths. It checks if you ever respawned (not initially spawned). This means you can’t get a Perfection if you JIP into a match either. (I’ve had multiple games of 20+ kills no deaths during JIP Slayer games and don’t get it.)
I don’t think they have PERFECT KILLS in Extermination
I do not seem to get them. But I don’t play anymore!
Bring back BREAKOUT 2.0!!!

Extermination somehow breaks the 5 shot pistol kill. But, Breakout 1.0 works with the pistol 3shot? It’s confusing.
Tbh, I can’t stand Breakout 2.0 after going back to 1.0 and I love Extermination more than both of those. I’d have preferred Extermination being a sole ranked playlist for a season and rotate it out every season with Breakout 1 and 2.

I think cleaning up kills is too easy in 1.0. There’s no basis for that kind play anywhere in Halo except for SWAT. I miss the shotgun

This doesn’t make sense…

Who says it has to make sense? That’s the only plausible reasoning as to why weird things happen. Improper conditional checks. Just because something works under a certain set of events doesn’t mean it will work as intended down the road. Breakout was meant as a 1 life round gametype. If you’re alive at a rounds end, which is apparently what it checks for, then you’re golden. It should’ve checked for 0 deaths. It doesn’t or else you wouldn’t get it in Exterm when you die, but can if youre alive at the end of rounds.

I was actually referring to your Slayer example, not Breakout.

Yeah, I wasn’t sure which you were aiming for, so I went with the OP’s original question. Some things don’t make sense at all. Hopefully when we get the Halo 6 beta (which is inevitable), they will be able to find and correct bugs like this a lot better and have a better release with less issues than Halo 5 did.
I think I saw a perfect kill in Extermination. But it was during Theater Mode. So I am not sure if they fixed it.

I believe you can’t have anyone on your team respawn as you are killing the remaining team.
