Breaking News Palmer Replaces Cortana

As the title implies Palmer is going to replace Cortana as chiefs side kick in Halo 5 would you be happy with this?

I would, just to see people cry.

I’d still play Halo, but that would just reinforce my notions about 343i’s inability to tell creative stories outside of Greg Bear’s works.

I’m OK with it as long as there is friendly fire in campaign mode. She wouldn’t survive mission 1…

I would still play halo , but put music instead of listening to that -Yoinking!- -Yoink- , and put subtitles on lol

Sure… she’d be a great bullet sponge.

My point exactly.

> I’m OK with it as long as there is friendly fire in campaign mode. She wouldn’t survive mission 1…

How do I hate thee - let me count the ways…

  1. Splatter.
  2. Target locator.
  3. Shoot Covey next to her with rail gun.
  4. Shoot vehicle next to her with rocket.
  5. Push off cliff.
  6. Barricade behind piles of stuff.
  7. Maybe we could find the sniper who took out Kat.

Let’s get some Project Freelancer characters up in here!

why do you dislike her anyway?
she’s no different than most other support chars who follow orders blindly…

> why do you dislike her anyway?

She is overly rude to her subordinates and the Infinity science teams, though I can understand her anger at the latter, and a massive hypocrite. Orders are orders…except when given by Del Rio…sure Palmer.

Will I get a shower scene?

Like she could have really stopped Chief…OK rolls eyes

Point is she selectively follows orders and her current order to kill Halsey is blinded by her emotions.

She isn’t good Spartan material.

> Will I get a shower scene?

Possibly this remains unknown at this stage rumours are going round saying there might be a mass effect type input where your actions determine what may or may not happen between Chief and Palmer later in the game  lol

YES IM PREORDERING NOW AND PAYING IT OFF!!!

> why do you dislike her anyway?

It’s simple really. I like her, but this is it:

She doesn’t care for science and calls scientists “Eggheads” in a mean way.
Most people who play Halo are eggheads, and take offense. If she didn’t hate on science so much and treated Halsey like a God (because EVERYONE should for some reason) then people will like her.

She’s also HUMAN unlike the Chief who was trained since a child to be a killing machine. The S IV will never be like the II. Actually no one ever will be like them. They are special and many people hate Halsey because the info on the IIs and how they were taken as kids. No one thanks her for saving mankind but the UNSC/ONI needed a scapegoat. That’s unfortunately how the world works even in real life.

> She’s also HUMAN unlike the Chief who was trained since a child to be a killing machine.

So that means as the commander of the Spartan-IVs, she doesn’t have to keep her emotions in check? You don’t need to be a killing machine raised from birth to act professional.

> The S IV will never be like the II.

I don’t expect them to be, but the the S-IIIs were war orphans exploited for their emotions and they turned out fairly professional.

> Actually no one ever will be like them.

The IIIs were.

> They are special and many people hate Halsey because the info on the IIs and how they were taken as kids.

I know, of course they don’t know the whole picture. Still, Palmer was way too emotionally invested in trying to kill Halsey. Instead of shooting the leader of the new Covenant right in front of her, she shoots Halsey and gets upset when Jul escapes.

> No one thanks her for saving mankind but the UNSC/ONI needed a scapegoat. That’s unfortunately how the world works even in real life.

Yeah, yeah, yeah scapegoats and all that. A shame the title of war criminal means absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of morality in Halo.

I wonder how well she drives.

False titles are so annoying…
