Brain-flash on release of S-II info to public

Sorry for vague title; char limit isn’t too large.

I was thinking about the story of MC saving the girl from drowning when he was ~5-6, and got to thinking about the families and how they were all flash-cloned and swapped.

What I came to realize, is if everyone now knows Dr. Halsey flash-cloned the Spartans, does that mean the parents and families of the S-II’s, if they survived the covenant war of course, could now understand what really happened to their children?

Would be interesting to see if this were to be true. It seems from all the books and H4 it’s common knowledge about the SII program. If I remember correctly, even foot soldiers mention it.

If the parents learn about it, yes. I don’t think it is common knowledge amongst the general populace and UNSC though, I know the S-IVs and Kilo-Five know, but I think they know this through rumors.

To be honest I don’t think anyone should ever have released that information to anyone. The clones gave the parents anguish about their child dying but they have the “knowledge” that their child wasn’t kidnapped by some pervert or ransomer. The spartans were ethically wrong but in the end they were trying to prevent the human race from declaring war upon itself and killing each other (or at least didn’t make it nearly as bad). But without Halsey knowing she created the only thing that kept the human race alive long enough for someone in the covenant to finally realize that we were the “good” guys all along (after 27 years!!!).

I don’t think the parents know about it yet but with the direction 343 is going they may find out. And we may get to see M.C’s paremts but he would probably see them as just people instead of his biological parents. Then he and his father have an awkward -Yoink- game of catch.

I don’t think there’s going to be any games of catch. If anything is left of John’s parents, it’s ashes and dust left on Eridanus II after it was glassed.

We don’t know that if they were killed or not and the catch thing was a joke.

Halo Evolutions is all those short stories right? Heck, maybe if they make another one this could be a part of it. The family (if they had another kid, otherwise just the parents) thinking, “What if…” Then searching through one lead after another trying to find out if the kid they thought died long ago is actually still alive, or at least fought as a Spartan and saved millions of lives.

It would be cool if 117’s little brother became a Spartan IV and becomes the new hero of the Halo games.

And his name is…Gabriel Thorne!!!
DUN DUN DUUUUUUN!!

There are only 5 (?) S-IIs left, and they were all taken from the outer-colonies which have now most likely been obliterated by the Covenant. But in The Kilo 5 trilogy [spoiler warning!] there is an example of a Spartan’s parent which is probably going to learn the truth about his daughter.
