Braille 117 on Chiefs armor?

…why? This is actually kind of lame, I mean when would a blind person ever come into contact with Chief and think to touch his chest to see what it says? The whole video was amazing but this left me thinking…why in the world…

Maybe people get blinded by his awesomeness.

It’s just extra detail…

It makes sense its kind of like a just in case thing.

I didn’t get it either. Do they enlist the blind in the future?

Because you know, soldiers only ever come into contact with other soldiers right?

his jelly cause he dont got a AI gf.

It signifies that the armour was made specially for him, it’s kinda like his dogtags, braille wont wear out like paint.

It’s probably just an easter egg. Purely visual.

Of all the things you could complain about, why pick this???

Possibly if someone gets shellshock during battle (sometimes people will lose there vision ex. Blithe in band of brothers) just a thought then again I guess most soldiers wouldn’t know braile

This.

Really, it’s really nothing to complain about, and it’s much better than having the number 117 painted onto his armour like in Halo Legends.

Im not complaining. I just think it makes no sense at all and honestly just a pointless detail. I think the numbers 117 would have made a whole lot more sense.

I still don’t get it.

I don’t really mind it though.

It’s like, why put braille on drive-through ATMs?

The way I see it is, it helps with identification. Say you have multiple Spartans in battle that go down. Would it be easier to identify them by:
A. Strip their off armor right there, or:
B. Check braille ID on them?

I think B would be easier.

I could see that.

I don’t see why this is a big deal. Its just a cool bit of extra detail.

I think I was a bit blinded by your awesome comment (:

That’s interesting. A painted number could easily be rendered un-readable in combat. Braille letters that are engraved in his armor would be easier to identify. Then again, they could have just engraved the normal number. It’s still a small issue though.
