BR zOOM, big black box ????? needs tweaked !

Look at the black lines AROUND the scope. The part That’s 100% black. It’s too big. In all other versions it was opeque/clear.

Too much of your view is blocked when you zoom in with the BR. It takes away half of the screen on each side of the “scope” Good bye situational awareness =/ It’s never been like this before, why change it now ??? Please bring back the FOV when zoomed in.

Watch how MUCH MORE of the screen you can see when he un-zooms the BR
Look at the first 5 seconds of this video when the BR gets zoomed in. See how your view shrinks and there are black lines on the sides and top of the scope. That is new to the BR you can’t see half the screen
Halo 4’s BR zoomed in

Now compair it to Halo 3’s BR’s
Halo 3’s BR zoomed in

And Halo 2’s BR
Halo 2’s BR zoomed in (Skip to 12 seconds)

Even Halo Reach’s DMR isn’t like this
Halo Reach DMR zoomed (Skip to 18 seconds)

Help spread the word so it doesn’t wind up like this in the retail version !

I didn’t even notice this until you pointed it out.

Now I’m annoyed.

What the heck are they doing with the BR these days? These changes are NO GOOD.

you can still see outside the non shaded area. I actually think that when you use the sniper rifle, you shouldn’t even have the grayed area.

Most of the stuff in that video wasn’t actual game stuff.

Personally, I see no problem with it.

Although I usually vouch for stuff from halo 2/3 that should make a comeback rather than stuff Reach, Im quite fine with the whole box thing doesn’t disturb me one bit.

I dunno, it all looks fine to me.

Perhaps this is their way of nerfing the BR without having to add in ridiculous features such as BR spread and bloom.

Doesn’t look very practical to me.

A circle with the same diameter of the width and height of a square has less surface area than the square.

With the square zoomed-in scope, you see more than you would with the circular zoom.

This post is not about the sniper rifle.
This post is not about the shape of the black box. Its about the SIZE
Look how much MORE you can see when he UN-ZOOMS.

Did you even watch the video’s ???
Did you even read my first post ???

Damn it, I prefer the new one, but clicked the 2nd option

Dude, having watched the video or not that’s simple science. You see more with a squared scope than a circular in this instance, and before you start yes I saw it, no I don’t see an issue. Personally I’m just glad it’s back.

Why would you want to see less ??? Just look at how much more stuff you can see when he un-zooms the BR.

Do you have a HD t.v. or do you have an old 4:3 square one ???

Geez how is it a good thing to see less stuff on your screen ???

Do you play with something blocking off half of your t.v. ?

I think that its not normally like that because if you look at the halo 4’s br scope and sniper, you can clearly see that the around the rectangle, there’s already some shadowy but not black color… So that means they added some black by purpose so you cant see some details (maybe some unfinished or leaks). Another thing is that you can clearly see the black thing is moving and not in a natural way which makes me think it’s was added after the video was recorded.
Look correctly and it will make sens…

Honestly I don’t see the big deal here. It’s only natural that you aren’t going to see as much of the map when you are zoomed in. The black on the sides of the screen when zoomed in just means that you have to be more cautious when zooming in.

Well in all fairness, it’s a scope. So I don’t mind if the shaded parts are less visible. All I care about is the bad guys I’m gonna shoot!

obviously it is a placeholder. the guy hit zoom and it didn’t zoom at all, just cropped the image.

in the upper-left corner you can see 2x.

they are still working on it, but there you go. it will not be like that in the final product.
