BR worse than DMR?

What are the benefits of each over the other? To me they look the same…so can someone please help me :frowning: i dont really like how the DMR shoots or looks cause it reminds me of reach…but I love how the BR looks and fires because it reminds me of good old Halo 3…yet I dont want to use the BR because people are saying the DMR is better. Someone help me!

for me its going to depend on the map, gametype and how fast the game pace is but personally I’ve always been a BR and AR kind of guy i find they compliment each other really well

BR has recoil, which makes it far less effective at longer ranges than the DMR.
DMR has very low aim assist in close quarters, has minimal bloom.
Br has 2x Scope
DMR has a 3x scope.
so basically the DMR is intended for Medium-Long the BR is intended for Short-Medium.

im going to tell you somthing very important!!!

dont let anyone else tell you what weapon to use. just pick whatever you like.

It still dominates the BR at close to medium range because of the faster fire rate though. It needs to be made 4SK again so it can function properly in it’s range.

A lot of people will straight up tell you that the DMR is better than the BR because it has a slightly quicker kill time, and has a bit more accuracy at range.

It’s also the opinion of some people that the BR is better at close/mid range due to it having more aim assist.

After watching the MLG stream this weekend, my own opinion is starting to become a little more polarized than most of the people I read about. While both weapons kill in 5 pulls of the trigger, due to the nature of way the BR deals damage, I believe it is the better weapon if you have a team mate also using it with you.

What I mean is, you are less likely to waste damage on a shield pop if you are delivering your damage in 3 packets as opposed to one, so that last headshot- whether issued by you or your BR wielding team mate, will come just a hair quicker.

Don’t think you’ll be ‘inferior’ if you like the BR. Their strengths and weaknesses are arguable enough for either option to be viable.

IMO.

the LR zoomed is 4sk

The BR is fine get over it, the overrated weapon is not the “godgun” weapon anymore.

Did you really just make this statement? The BR was never a “Godgun” it just may have appeared that way to you because they were slightly better with it.

In response to the OP’s question the weapons are made for different purposes as are all of the guns in Halo. From what I’ve read the Br will be better for close to mid range battles and the DMR for mid to long range battles. The DMR may be better at a closer range if you are a near perfect shot all of the time but a lot of the people fail to calculate for human error. The BR will be better at close range just because of the fact that it’s more controlled. With the BR as well you could miss a bullet out of the BR burst but still land two where with the DMR if you made that shot then you would have missed the whole bullet. See where I’m getting?

All dependent on what kind of player you are and the situation you are in.

But it’s ROF is really slow when scoped.
