I got my xbox one after the beta, so never played it
Which weapon did you liked better in the MP beta of H5 - the BR or the DMR?
And what was ur fav weapon overall in the beta?

The BR was better like it always has been besides pre patch Halo 4. The DMR may be better at extreme long range but the BR is overall the better weapon
My favorite gun was the BR as it is my favorite gun in any video game!
I preferred the BR personally, which is strange because I only really used the DMR or Carbine in previous games.
I actually had quite a bit of trouble using the DMR in the beta and I use primarily hip-fire so it wasnât that awful scopeâs fault.
I think everything will feel a lot better come launch but man, that BR felt so tight, so much more deadly than ever before.

The br was better when combat was changing ranges constantly. But when there was a sustained long range fight I went to the dmr

Dmr was much better for getting the map control off from your side of the map however if u wanted to push the enemy team the br/assault rifle/smg were the go to weapons
Until we got the second set of maps, and thus the LightRifle, my ideal non-power weapon setup was DMR/SMG. I guess I just prefer the long-range versatility of the DMR to the slightly faster kill time of the BR.
I preferred using the BR in the beta, the burst was more forgiving if you missed than the single shot from the DMR.
However, the maps in the beta werenât quite big enough for the DMR to outshine the BR, hopefully weâll see some large maps in BTB where it will see some use.
I preferred the BR, more adaptable to multiple situations.
The DMR was pretty hard to use well in the beta since all the maps never really allowed it the extreme range advantage so I would say the BR was definitely better in the beta. Depending on the BTB maps thought it is possible the DMR will be much better on those, but that remains to be seen. As long as the DMR is a pick up and not everyone spawns with long range death dealing ability I will be fine.
They worked pretty differently from each other.
In close to medium range the BRâs power one out. But at long range the DMRâs higher fire rate and high stability gave it an edge.
I actually preferred the DMR crazy right? I fell in love with the weapon for the first time since ever using it in Reach I cant explain it really well in words⌠I just loved everything (even the scope) about it the weight of shots the reload animation sooo GUWD but Iâm an Assault rifle man through and through.

glad to hear some DMR love over the BR
The DMR will shine even more above the BR once we get into Squad and BTB sized but as was, if you were cross-mapping, not only did the DMR get more consistent average kill times, they were LOW average kill times.
Itâs all about that magic red reticle range of 32m where the spread of the BR, if the reticle was aimed solely at the head, can miss a purrfect kill where the DMR will not. And shooting centre-mass still is only about 80% for the BR at that range where assists can pop in and out AND the spread of certain weapons still misses under those red reticle conditions.
Here within those ranges, the DMRâs unscoped and more precise shot due to a smaller reticle of spread deviation combined with a single-shot make it an Arena dominator.
Once inside the BRâs intended unscoped range of domination, inducing a missed shot on the BR is actually more detrimental than a missed shot on the DMR because of the DMRâs RoF. The BRâs RoF and chip damage of the burst shot versus the hit-or-miss nature of the DMR. A DMR can pop of its 6th and 7th shot as the BR is spittling its 5th into 6th shot gives a skill advantage to the DMR.
And although the BR can kill a DMR user before the 5th shot from said DMR is fired, the timing is within the trade-window of online matches and it leads to a lot of traded deaths in that scenario, not the BR outright winning (connections allowing).
So what that means is the player with the most missed headshots âshouldâ loose⌠Which means a skilled DMR controls the map better than the BR, connections allowing.
However, the M6 was already a capable scalpel in the beta and it could hold its own across the ranges of the Arean-sized maps, though only dominate in really short range. Meaning if a BR and DMR walk into a room to have a strictly bullet fight, the player that pulled out the M6 first should win
They claimed they buffed the M6 post beta, that player WILL win
DMR.

boom. ^^ nailed it.
Overall the BR was better. My main problem with the DMR was that -Yoink!- scope. luckily they are fixing that.
DMR was kind of pointless due to the nature of the H5 maps⌠When I could use it, I liked it.
I am rubbish with the DMR, so BR FTW.
The halo 5 BR was incredible imo⌠I loved it. But as others have said, across map or at longer ranges, the DMR will shine. It seems lke 343 have thought about, and given guns their place within the sandbox.
Donât get me started on my new found admiration for the AR in close quartersâŚlol Another touchy subject
The BR was better in the beta because the maps werenât really that big. Theyâve made the BRâs range a tiny bit shorter and the DMRâs range longer, so I assume that they want the DMR to be primary and more relevant in larger BTB maps. The DMR also felt clunky and slow, which gives the impression itâs supposed to be used for longer ranges only. They have announced that they will âadjust the position of the DMRâs scope to improve visibilityâ so Iâm assuming that will make it less awkward.

Hearing or in this case reading this word in a sentence always makes me giggle. But you need more dmr practice bud things a monster now.
