Alright guys… I know this is a subject of heated debate and probably slight rage from Battle Rifle fans, but I think the BR will continue to be competitive in H4s multiplayer. Here are my thoughts: The BR is now hit-scan, which means it will be easier to aim and shoot than Halo 3s BR. This means that players will be more accurate with the new BR than they were with Halo 3’s which will result in similar kill times between the two weapons at medium to long ranges. Also, from the gameplay I’ve seen, the DMR looks harder to use at close and mid ranges than the BR. The DMR is meant for long-range counter sniping and will beat-out the BR primarily at long and long/mid ranges. The BR will beat the DMR at mid-to-close ranges do to it’s ease of use and better aim assist. As long as these two weapons fulfill their intended niches and purposes, I don’t think we’ll see either weapon dominating or overpowering the other.
The br looks pretty solid. I don’t want to hear 4sk complaints anymore. If people can’t see that the br is holding its own, then I don’t know what else to say.

They actually were. The Light Rifle slapped it around like nothing.
People who’ve played the game (in answer to these sort of questions on this forum (“is BR underpowered?”)) said it fit the close/mid-range niche it’s supposed to, while the DMR was more suitable for long-range.
If firsthand accounts aren’t enough, I don’t know what is.
