I honestly am tired of how peoples misinformed ego’s think they know which weapon will be the “one weapon to rule them all.” This is not halo reach where the DMR was king. This is not halo 3 where the BR was king. Both the BR and DMR are different then they were in past games.
BR) has now been turned into a close to mid range weapon monster. its recoil and spread to keep it from beating most long range combat.
DMR) is now a long to mid range rifle. The closer you are to your target the less aim assist/bullet magnitisum you have making it harder to land your shots.
Mid range combat is chalked up to who is the better player. Not which gun itself is better. If you took two equally skilled players one with the BR and one with the DMR The DMR will almost always win in long range mid range will be determined b who lands there shots better/faster and close range the BR will almost always win.
You can aster either gun. But because neither weapons are all around power houses like past games they don’t win on all fronts. 343 is deliberately making halo 4 about the player. Not about what AA gun etc they choose. Its all made to how you want to play.
So if your good with the DMR cool. You can win most of your gun fights. But in close range someone that has the BR and is good as you or better will beat you.

This is fact, weapons have there own roles/places whatever you want to call them. There is no “one gun to rule them all” anymore and your just going to have to deal with it.
I agree. 343 didn’t kill the BR, they just made it balanced. Neither weapon is better, they both have their place. I know I will be using both depending on the map size. On large maps I’m going to destroy (or atleast try to) with the DMR. And on smaller maps I’m going to be rocking the BR. Simple as that. They have their own roles and they fit them well. You can use which ever one you want. So don’t complain. That’s what 343 was trying to do: Not make one gun to rule them all.

No, DMR kills quicker than the BR even if the DMR user misses one shot, it is a better weapon full stop in halo 4. Really why even use the BR the light rifle is just a better version of the BR with a 4 shot kill when scoped in.

Well as i stated above the DMR doesn’t act like it used to. You don’t have to make it your go to gun. But it is worth noting it doesn’t act like how it used to.

Killtimes/skill are generally what determine an outcome in a fight. But as ive stated above incase you didn’t read is why the BR will win in certain areas if both players are at equal skill. The weapons now have strengths and weaknesses in areas and those effect an out come in a battle.

Why not use the light rifle, after all it is better than the Battle rifle in every single way.

exactly. People can’t seem to let go how these weapons used to act. Some people are just in flat out denial. But i guess it can’t be helped.

Battle rifle fires faster and has less of a spread then the LR does.

You are right ! I really hope that people will stop complaining about these two awesome weapons ! And just to point something out , if DMR haters or BR haters don’t want to see both of them in one game , there is Halo 3 and Halo Reach !
Here is a fact. In a 1v1 where both players engage at the same time, BR vs. DMR, the BR will only win if the DMR player misses shots.
The BR will only dominate the DMR close range if the player with the DMR sucks. The BR is a beginner’s precision weapon. There is no reason to use it considering the LR is a better version of the BR.

Thanks for your “opinions”, as well.
The BR and DMR would most likely be as evenly matches as each individual player’s skill at most ranges.

Thank you, finally someone who isn’t just believing the lies that 343 have been spewing. Face it the BR is back to reel in old fans, the light rifle is just a better weapon, so is the DMR and the carbine to an extent. It is pathetic to see people mindlessly defend the BR’s mid range prowess that doesn’t exist.

You fail to take in any of the other factors involved in this.
The DMR has been specifically designed so that it is handicapped in accuracy, among other things, at a shorter range. BR has been specifically designed so that it is much easier to hit someone at short range. It’s not all just killtimes.
Although I invite you to prove your theory. You know, a month or so from now. Until then, it’s just speculation versus actual accounts of people like you changing their opinions after getting a beat down everytime they took a DMR to a BR fight.

I might use the Light Rifle! However not to bash your opinion, it is much different thant the BR and not necesarrily making it better in that way. The light rifle is actually pretty sloppy unzoomed. It has a larger spread (unzoomed) than the BR. And though I’m not entirely sure, it seems to have a slow firing rate. However it’s a beast zoomed in. It’s fire rate is the same, but it is a single shot and very accurate zoomed in. Plus it’s a 4 shot kill zoomed in!
So you can see all the pricision weapons have their own roles. (even the carbine!) It’s just a matter of preference. Can ya’ dig it?
